Dolphins not even considering Dion Jordan at OLB

the vikings have said barrs head is spinning learning to play lb...jordans would be too...barrs not as explosive as jordan without bad weight but he's probably got the better torso and frame for adding weight and carrying it well...

jordan would be late to the ball at olb while he learns the craft as well...have to learn to read guards and tackle movements etc...this teams hilarious they should have just drafted or got a mike damn backer in free agency and left misi at strong and then we could work with a athlete at weak that isn't all that instinctual...like i freaking said after watching that 2013 lb disaster

and if you are gonna use a top 5 pick and trade up in the process to do so make sure the damn guys a scheme fit

In any scheme I would never take Jordan top five but boy those shorts workouts really make a difference on sunday

I'd like to see Jordan at olb in the 3-4 and de at the 4-3. Put Tripp in the middle and misi can play both inside and out lb depending on scheme. Just leave Ellerbe on the weak side. Wheeler is odd man out. I mean really Jordan can't be worse than wheeler right?

Saban's hybred 3-4 OE is taylor made for DJ, unfortunately Philbin hitched his wagon to Croyle.

The next DC and HC can figure what to do with DJ.

He did drop into coverage vs ATL guys..
thats preseason week 1 as well..
they will let him roam especially if his pass rush keeps looking like this.. All he can do is bullrush... and he is not a bullrush player

it's a little more frustrating because it wasn't just a wasted pick, if we do sell low, but it's a player we double downed on....suspension sure doesn't help either.

Meanwhile, elsewhere around the league...

I agree, its frustrating. Actually, i think it goes a step beyond frustrating and its safe to say our coaches inflexibility costs us games. Ideally we'd kick back to a 3-4. Even years after switching, we still have the personnel for it. It would allow us to play to our strengths and (hopefully anyways) minimize our weaknesses. Barring that, id love for us to move Jordan around the field to create opportunities for him. He has too much potential to simply relegate him to one specific role and bench him when he doesnt seize that role. Regardless, our staff refuses to think outside the box even as they potentially sit on the hot seat. Mind-boggling.

Wait, what?!?

We can't find THREE linebackers we're comfortable with ... You wanna go with FOUR?!?

On top of that it removes one more position of strength on our DL. Though, it does fit Spesh's doom and gloom 6-10 record and "I'm already looking ahead to '15" mindset. Not surprised.

Seems stubborn to me to not even consider it
The decision was made a long time ago to beef him up. That's why he's put on 24 lbs of muscle. He now has a physique that is more like a pass rushing DE. Getting disappointed that he's not an OLB now, seems pretty ridiculous. It was obvious 6 months ago when the first reports came out that he was seriously beefing up.
If you haven't seen him this year, you should. He's absolutely huge.
