Dolphins Offseason Thread (Mandatory Mini-Camp 6/10 - 6/12)

Some good stuff from Joe Schad on yesterday's OTA. I've heard his takes on Zach Wilson backed up on a few podcasts, it's early but encouraging nonetheless -
Zach Wilson fired an eye-opening laser beam to Tarik Black
Zach Wilson’s arm strength and zip cannot be questioned
Zach Wilson connected with Dee Eskridge on a deep ball
Dee Eskridge had a nice contested catch in traffic from Zach Wilson

The best case scenario is if ZW can get his head on straight and be that #2 picked QB. The talent is there.

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. When I saw his name pop up, I immediately thought of that last contract negotiation tactic. It just hasn't been reported on very much yet.
Damn man please tell me he's not wanting more money right now too. We have enough problems.

Wilson has the talent, IF he can get his confidence back and master the playbook. The good thing is that it’s a similar style as he ran at BYU.
Hi! Glad to see you again! :)

No shite, practice is all we've got at this point, so if a guy is making progress it should be noted. I'm not anointing him or anything, just a little contribution to the Dolphins Offseason Thread (OTA's Mini-Camp, Etc.).
Looked like you were glazing honestly. Either that or you fail to keep up with this thread. Its been posted a number of times.

This kid is not an in structure qb. This is quite possibly the worst qb to get hoping he can operate an offense like mcdaniels. Now say Tua gets injured, I sure hope McDaniel learned his lesson and has a secondary offense scripted for guys like Wilson. Not denying his arm strength and talent, this kid needs to gain confidence again i just dont see it.

I guess having the audacity to say "it's early but encouraging" is over the top now? Whatever.

Yeah, I think it would be hard for Wilson to run any offense designed for Tua. However, McD changed the offense when Skylar or Snoop was playing. It’s just that they both aren’t any good. Maybe Wilson will be the same, but his talent level, as you wrote, is very good. If McD can work his magic on him like he’s done Tua we may be surprised.

in this case, as crazy as it sounds I trust Wilson more than McDaniel. We will see

That's the problem with giving crazy extensions out to entitled players who don't even want to be on the team. The ones who deserve it look in the mirror and are like "where's mine?"

I'd say slippery slope but it's just stupid ... so quite the stupid slope.

He’s got a lot of talent but doing what Tua does in the system and thinking Zac is the guy to do it a bit perplexing imo

We’ll see if McDaniel can actually adapt to a different qb skillset

He tried with Skykar, Mike White and Huntley to fit squares in round holes, which was absolutely ridiculous evaluations by professional NFL people

Just take a moment to think about how bad those players and fits were.

No, it's not. Zach Wilson is not a rookie. Zach Wilson tore up Jets camp then shite the bed in actual games. So while 'hoping' that this time it's different is great.. we have actual games of Zach Wilson trying to play football.

Hmmm.....

Wilson won twice as many games with the jests as the great A Rodgers.

Maybe the jests are just offensively incompetent, in general?
