Dolphins Offseason Thread (Mandatory Mini-Camp 6/10 - 6/12)

Not enough OtAs gets you a team that looks like your team

Undisciplined, Soft, loses the majority of big games, actually check that, doesn’t show up, folds on occasion against inferior teams, has players and coaches talk **** about them, players don’t work hard on their craft other own time, losing seasons, and no playoff wins during the current regime

But sure yet let’s cut practice time practically in half during the offseason for the third strait year, let’s not have anyone stay after practice to work on their individuals, let’s show up late and leave early when other teams come and practice against us.

That sounds like a hell of a strategy Dano..Knowing you as well as I do and what kind of bad ass you are, I’m very shocked you defend this **** as hard as you do.

I ain’t buying any of it until I see these methods you defend are effective on the field

You know what, the only defense in this club med style of practice is to limit injuries?, there really is no other defense to the strategy that is the opposite of practice makes perfect, zero.

Well we know how that’s worked out dont we?

Our team has lost more starter games due to injury than just about anyone else, so much for that theory

So what is it then Dano? Why do you believe in club McDaniels approach so much?
I don’t believe that McD is soft or runs a soft practice. And I don’t see any evidence that 10, rather than 6, OTA’s matters for anything. I posted before all of the teams that have anywhere between 5 and 10 OTA’s. Some of the lowest do the best and some of the highest do the worst. And vice versa.

What I do see is McD being a great teacher (which is #1 in HC’ing) and a Dolphins’ culture that has been for far too long lackadaisical and undisciplined. That culture started way before McD. IMO, the HC doesn’t drive nor does he create a culture. It’s impossible in today’s game. HC’s don’t have the power to really do anything. It’s going to take the PLAYERS to change the culture. And Grier has consistently brought in talented guys, but guys with no discipline or self motivation.

Until this team is filled with guys that police themselves we will keep living in Groundhog Day no matter the HC.

Not getting into this again if you don’t trust who your conversing with

Just go with your own narratives where you get them from

You know I respect your opinions and take a lot of what you say about football to heart because you’re good at it.

And I know you’ve seen other teams, during scrimmages with the Dolphins, practicing before and after while the Dolphins didn’t. I asked you, who decided to do that? You said the other team’s HC’s weren’t out there, right? So the players decided to do that on their own. That’s on the players… not the HC.

Back at ya.

No bud that’s not how it works

How do you explain no one working on their own after 10 training camp practices ?

Totally coincidental ?

You’re saying that’s a player decision I’m saying hell no that’s a response and reflection of your head coach

You don’t think a head coach should step and do something when he sees none of his team
Members working out on their own after practice when the other team has 75 percent of their guys doing it ?

Why aren’t they doing it when they aren’t practicing against other teams ?

You don’t respect what I saw first hand, this is the damn truth

Why are they not coming on to the field to warm up before preseason games until 30 mins before a game

Why is the other team doing it 2 hours in advance ?

Why are our kickers the only ones doing it ?

Other than the numerous ex players that say the Dolphins culture/coach is soft!! I guess they mean nothing and they were the problem, right?!

The best case scenario is if ZW can get his head on straight and be that #2 picked QB. The talent is there.

not sure if im speaking for every staunch Tua supporter, but here’s hoping Zach does just that.

Because if Zach is the Fins starting QB, we’ll support him as much as we support Tua. And when the Tua realists start hating on Zach when he struggles, we’ll stick with him.

Because he the Dolphins’ quarterback.

A coach is a dire
Got any quotes calling McD soft
A coach is a direct reflection of what I see on the field, what other posters have witnessed watching practices, and what other players have said about the culture of this team. The culture of the team is directly attributable to the coach. If you dont believe that you have never played team sports.
