Malik Washington may hold the key to opening up the entire passing game. If he can make big plays with consistency, defenses might move off Hill and Waddle to start covering him. I don't think there are many slot CB's that can cover Washington, single handedly? He's too fast, but more importantly, he's too shifty as well. Defenses are about to find out the full scale McDaniel offense does exist. Just my opinion.
That guy destroyed the best chances for me to see my team win a SB with an all-world HC coaching an All-World QB. That face gives me nightmares.
I think the combo of Washington & Nick Westbrook-Ikhine will open up a lot of things for the offense. Provided we have some real semblance of a running game of course.
100% agree on all that, but I really believed if Miami had during that time a good to great Defense in at least not allowing scores as frequent, Miami would have been in quite a few SBs, with I hope winning some or most of them .
With a good to great Defense, you put opponents in a deep hole, because as Bill Walsh said, Dan Marino was not a part of an offense, he was an offense all by himself. Put any type of receivers, Dan would find them, and Dan would score quite a huge amount of points with them.
This is true, and the biggest mark on Shula's resume. He was good friends with
Tom Olivadotti and Shula refused to fire him, instead hoped Marino could just out play, and out score all the failures allowed by Olivadotti's defenses.

Oooof. What's even crazier is what we do know is it's a different hip injury than the one in college. So he's sustained TWO major hip injuries that he hopes to keep healthy.

O'brien was a D2 QB. Im not surprised he didnt know anything about him back then.
