Dolphins pick up 5th year for Pouncey

NFL.com is corroborating my claim that its the 3rd through 25th OL, not the 3rd through 25th center: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000342224/article/fifthyear-option-tracker

I'll take my 5800 vCash please so I can make it vRain

Well played hustler.

Dolphins exercise fifth-year option on Mike Pouncey

NFL Media's Albert Breer reported Tuesday that Miami has exercised the fifth-year option worth $7.438 million on Pouncey's rookie contract. The Pro Bowl center is now under the Dolphins' control through the 2015 season.

Also, as @JayGlazer said, Falcons picked up Julio Jones' option. Jones' is for $10.176M in 2015. Pouncey's will cost the Fins $7.438M.

Which was the same price tag when the Pats exercised the 5th year option on LT Nate Solder

Now how about you return the favor and show me the image in your crystal ball. You know, the one that shows Mike Pouncey suddenly learn from his mistakes and become a part time pastor.

Your opinion is obviously in the minority for a reason. The team officials picked up his option for a reason, they see and talk to the man every single day. Hard to believe you know more than they do, and they made the right decision.

Now the commish pounces and suspends Pouncey making the Fins look like ****.

idk why people keep questioning the figure, the O line tags etc are all the same regardless of position.

My opinions arent chosen by popularity. If they were, i wouldnt have spent the last 4 years insisting Jeff Ireland be fired. I was in the minority then as well.

Its actually kind of amusing your next point, i was just talking about it concerning another matter not to long ago. Fans assuming something is automatically done correctly simply because its been endorsed by those who run this franchise. To answer the unspoken question: yes, there are those on this forum whose opinion i respect far more than the individuals who run this franchise. Because their stated views have consistently proven to be more accurate over multiple years.

If you dont terribly mind, please answer: what about the last 5 straight non-winning seasons has filled you with confidence about the individuals who run this franchise? Why should we assume something is the right move simply because it has the words "Miami Dolphins" connected to it?

Congrats to him. There's gonna be a lot of coke snorted off a lot of hookers' asses tonight!

With no mitigating legal substantiation, and only a questionable preordained "report" the results of which not surprisingly was spearheaded by an individual with academic, demographic, professional and racial commonalities with the supposed aggrieved party's family...if he ends up suspending Pouncey, he damn well better suspend Ray Rice for at least 2X the amount of time.

All the drug stuff is he said he said. I'm sure pouncey won't be suspended and that's why miami picked it up.he's a pro bowler who has to my knowledge never been in any legal trouble. A subpoena doesn't count unless your sure its more then a witness

LOL you were? I don't recall ever hearing the dude's name in a positive light the past several seasons outside of 2013 free agency. In regards to your last point, the last 5 seasons have nothing to do with the present where the only constant is 3rd year coach and DC Philbin & Coyle. All of the cancers have been trashed, including your boy Ireland. I apologize for investing faith into my hometown team. You can hit me up in the coming months and tell me "I told ya so", being how you said he is due for a F' up and all.

Nobody said anything positive about Jeff Ireland for years other than the 2013 free agency...wow. Just wow. Possibly the most absurd claim ive seen on here, and this is the forum that believes that local fans are the reason we lose and dirt causes interceptions. Anyways, heres an example:

Does JI deserve another year with good draft/ offseason?

No, he had his time, and it's up 40.19%
Yes, he seems to be getting better and should stay 59.81%

http://www.finheaven.com/showthread.php?337685-Poll-Has-Jeff-already-earned-another-year/page12

40% is less then 60%, just to be clear. Not to mention i saw him defended quite vehemently after our season ended before 1/7/14(day he was fired). What do you imagine the attitude was years ago? The cancers have clearly not been trashed. Philbin is still the coach, Ross is still the owner, Aponte is still the...well, whatever the **** she does exactly. To say nothing of the cancers on the roster.

And so its the "we're going to be great because we are great in my imagination!" thing. Par for the course for this thread, i'll give you that. "Mike Pouncey is a great human because i want him to be" seems to be an attitude the majority have taken. I support your blind faith in our franchise and those who run it, if for no other reason than it amuses me to see people get so utterly stunned when we stumble because "you never saw it coming"...despite the fact that it was obvious what was about to happen.

I don't even have Miami making the playoffs this year so so much for that little bit you put out there. Go on, keep telling me things about myself and what kind of fan I am.
