Dolphins players appreciate Philbin's major changes (SPORTS BUZZ 9/9/14)

B-Marsh knows what's up.

Yes but he also threw a underhanded comment at us as well saying that we are more worried about the business here than the product on the field. Used the "orange carpet" as an example of us not being focused on the field.

Problem with that theory is that the tape dont lie. coaches dont play.

Joe Philbin deserves 110% credit for recognizing the best OC guy out there and getting him here in Miami. It is the one decision that I say will keep him here long term. As well as RT.

If Philbin had his way we'd currently be watching Year 3 of Sherman-ball. I can't give him that much credit knowing that

Watching the game on Sunday... I felt like these guys celebrated situations differently than last year. I don't know how to describe it. Especially Wallace, dude would score a TD and just hand the ball off into the crowd and that was that. This year he's jumping up and celebrating with his teammates. And the jawing he was giving on that catch to the sidelines with the little bit late of a hit, you could see the fire, the drive. I love it!

Now if he can just improve his in game decision making and clock management then maybe we've got something here.

Its hilarious that on one hand Philbin had the power to make the moves he didn't have control over and is getting blamed for the Marshall trade and the non-Albert trade while at the same time he was too weak to make the moves he did have final say over in firing Sherman and Turner.

For me the circumstances around the Marshall trade were very similar to the Bess trade. It appeared as though Marshall was damaged goods and could have been facing a year suspension if the assault rumors were real. Its a prick move to unload damaged goods on another team. Who do we think was the prick of our organization, Philbin or Ireland?

I actually feel like that's one area where Joe Philbin has been much better than the average. I see some HORRIBLE clock, timeout, and game management decisions on a weekly basis in the NFL. Joe Philbin is pretty good there, IMO.

Then he should worry about how his BFF Cortland Finnegan will piss him off when we play them.

Odrick...haha "And anybody who likes Seinfeld as much as he does is great with me."

I don't think Philbin will take the team bowling like Dave did once. I can't help but wonder how much his son's death affected Joe.

That said, I always thought of Joe as the Vice Principal we all had in HS who was not your buddy but always there to help and encourage.

He already has taken them bowling; just this past training camp. There was a "Dolphins" show on TV that featured this years players having team-outing fun at a local bowling alley.

It is a known FACT that Philbin would not have fired Sherman if not being forced to by Ross. You can spin that away all you want

How is it a known fact? Stephen Ross may have prodded but Joe ultimately had to let Mike Sherman go (and he knew it) and he did it. It was probably tough for him, firing his friend and mentor, but he did it. Probably a key turning point in his career.

Philbin is at fault for not knowing what was going on in "his" locker room last year regarding the Bullygate affair with Martin. Both he his offensive line coach or both should have known that there were issues with those guys and in conclusion he really had not much choice but make a appearence and see whats happening with his players this year.
As far as the Marshal trade to Chicago everyone boo hoo Ireland over that implying we did not get enough trade value from Chicago for the guy and the way Marshall has played up there and the money we had to spend on Wallace to fill the hole left from Marshall they certainly have a valid point. On the other side of the coin Marshall was a handfull and undermined Tony Sporano enough that it probably was a big factor in trading Marshall away. Philbin being a rookie coach I would certainly "guess" did not want much to do with Marshall and his antics. As far as implying Marshall was damaged goods when we traded him away he was the same damaged goods when we traded for him from Denver so its not like Ireland was hiding something that the rest of the leaque did not know. I bet the fans in Chicago along with Marshall teammates are thanking Ireland right now for being such a nice prick,

Maybe the issue is you simply don't know the correct meaning of the word fact?

Funny you bring up Daboll. I actually thought Brian Daboll did a pretty good job considering the terrible circumstances of his tenure. Once Matt Moore got settled in, our offense was pretty competent and fun to watch.

If that were true he would probably have a more high profile job than the one he has right now. It just seemed better because it was coming after the Dan Henning Disaster Show.
