Dolphins Players considered Richie an honorary black man

All this tells me is that in some(most?all?who really knows) NFL locker rooms...being a punk/scumbag is something to be admired. And being a solid-quiet guy turns you into a phrase that I refuse to use regarding field vs house slaves. This is a societal problem. Unfortunately, it blew up on our teams face. I'd be happier if it happened to the Jets or the Pats.

Wow you don't get it. This tells you that no matter your skin color teammates respect you if you work hard and are tough both mentally and physically.
If you are someone who quits on your team and doesn't care if you win or lose, you have no respect

My ****ing head is spinning. 3 days of vertigo. First on the basis of his tweets I was pro Richie, then I became totally in Martin's camp based on texted "words" although I've come to realize that both Richie's and Martin's actions , speak much louder than those words. Yesterday I said **** em all.. how could Turner not see this.. they're all responsible, made their bed and are now laying it so let the chips fall where they may.

Now, incredibly, based on all the evidence including hard to fudge photos, team complicity and then making him a diversionary fall guy, having Pouncey as his best man, no racial complaints about him, I am back in "Camp Richie" although he does things to extremes and is certainly a meathead. But if I'm Tannehill, he's the guy, not some soft effete mama's boy, who I want in my corner. Hopefully Richie Sr is reading this cuz he just might be right. And shame on Ireland for not vetting Martin, even with his high school coach who said he attracts bullying and by that inferred he's soft.

Check back with me tomorrow LOL

Yea that's what black guys say when they are scared of the white guy......if you can't beat him make him an honorary member lol.....the dolphin locker room is getting more pathetic by the day.....

Martin and Pouncey ware good friends w incognito!! You don't get it either. The team loves Incognito, that tells you all you need to know

Another former Dolphins employee told me Martin is considered "soft" by his teammates and that's a reason he's not readily accepted by some of the players, particularly the black players. His background -- Stanford educated and the son of highly educated people -- was not necessarily seen as a strength or a positive by some players and it perpetuated in the way Martin carried himself.

AKA certain players didn't think Martin was "black" enough.

Really? That's what this is coming down to? This is freaking ridiculous.

Not sure why some are suprised. Myself and others tried all week to explain it to many and sojme just dont seem to understand. Martain was weak and Cog was the one to put pressure on him for either good or bad. It was to make him stand up and be a "MAN". He never stood up for himself and the pressure continued. NOW, many will question if Cog went to far. Maybe / Maybe not. Depends on which side of the fence you are on. Regardless, the NFL was not a place for Martain. Ricky said it the best. If we are putting Bullied and NFL in the same sentence then this is just NOT for you.

man, its not that they think hes black or he has some kinda emblem on his locker that says honorary black man, but the guy has probably been through alot with his teammates and they understand him. They know hes crazy. Everyone has that one person they know thats just crazy whether its a friend or family member or just someone they see from a distance. No one has problems with them, and they don't have problems with anyone else because its all love at the end of the day. But martin being the person who he is, probably never warmed up to Incognito, and maybe ritchie sensed that and felt like he had to pick on the guy to get him to come out of his shell. It happens all the time. Incognito said some things that weren't right, but i have a hard time believing he actually meant those things. And for this guy martin to save the messages from so long ago is just grimy imo and premeditated if you ask me.

I said this right after those TM/VM were made public. Of course people here have an excuse for everything. But in my experience, if someone keeps things like that, its for a purpose. And his purpose wasn't to report said actions, until he deemed it was necessary. And it was necessary after he lost his job and was being moved to the right side of the line.

WOW... this story is getting crazier by the minute.

I'm just waiting to see how that spin aliens, the Sasquatch, or the Loch Ness Monster into this as well.

But seriously, I've heard of this type of thing happening.

You forgot Elvis is a Burger King manager in Kalamazoo, MI

I don't know why this surprises anyone who has been involved in sports at a competitive level. You develop a bond that goes beyond many mainstream issues that elude the world of the politically correct.

Yea i don't really understand how this is a problem.

I think Martin saved those messages because he actually feared for his safety, he probably felt that one day Cog's would go off and there would be evidence of the threats against him and it wasn't a random thing.....I truly believe Martin feared Cog's but I also the believe that Cog's had no idea how afraid Martin was of him.....

and i speak for everyone when i say only you believe that...

lol, i would bet everything i own, that not one player in the dolphins locker room said Richie is a black man. honorary or any other kind. Armando is a moron.

Richie's career might be over. He is almost certainly finished in Miami. Why would anyone in that locker room be SCARED of him right now? And if you were, wouldn't you just keep your mouth shut instead of coming out swinging in his defense? Come on. This whole thing is just the biggest damn trainwreck of stupid bull**** ever.

This is what needs to happen immediately. All of the black players on the team that support Cogs should schedule a meeting where they make a statement in support of him, and that he is not a racist. It should also be made clear that they do not agree with the media reports and that it was Martin who did not fit in, was not a committed teammate and it was him who quit on the team. What I said in an earlier post has turned out to be prophetic--Martin's heart was not into football and he was looking for a scapegoat (Richie) and an out (racism and bullying.) I believe his plan all along was to sue the Dolphins, the NFL and the NFLPA, which is why he kept all the texts and voice mails since April. Who keeps that stuff unless they plan on using it at some point? It's all very clear to me.

I can honestly say I had more pride in this team during 2007!

There is so much bull**** swirling now that you know what, I'm done speculating on stupid bull****. Let's let everything fall on out and see what happens.

This may be worse than I think it is, or it may be not nearly as bad as I think it is. Who knows at this point? I sure feel like an idiot just for believing half of this crap.
