Dolphins preparing themselves to pay Eugene Monroe top LT money

If we don't get a LT in free agency we will be forced to find one in the draft. I don't think we want an average left tackle protecting the blindside,.

I say overpay a little and bring a young Monroe in. We can save that extra money we will spend in many other places and left tackle is not a bad place to put money.

Albert's health scares me coming off Jake Long and his chronic injuries.

Veldheer(injuries concern as well) would be a plan B for me, Monroe is a much better prospect with more upside.

I really like the idea of Monroe and drafting Zach Martin, who could fill just about any hole we don't fill in free agency on the line.

How is letting bothStarks and Solai go, a good decision? It may be a good deicison if there is a plan in place to replace the 2. Have you seem something I haven't? If not, at present time it is a dumb decision.

Are you doubting Isaako Aaitui and AJ Francis?

In all seriousness, if neither comes back we need to invest in at least 1 DT, whether it's the draft or FA don't care.

I don't think that letting Soliai walk is a good move, personally.

It's only a good move if big Paul is asking for big time money which in my opinion he's not worth. Then u let him walk. But if we can sign him for decent money I'm all for it. Starks I could care less about.

Reminds me when we have interviews at work. We get some average candidates, and some bad ones and b/c we need a warm body we have to hire the best of the worst.

That is the thing, Monroe is not average, he may not be elite {YET}, but he's not and average O-linemen.

Yeah, I'm still on the Veldheer bandwagon. I think you get a comparable talent to Monroe for less money. It would be irresponsible not to talk to both IMHO.

Maybe, but with Monroe, you get younger with less ware and tare. I agree that extremely overpaying is bad, but if you can get an experienced quality young healthy player at a position you REALLY need, overpaying for him may not be the worst thing in the world.

Veldheeer and Monroe are the same age. Yes, Veldheer was injured last year, but that's how you'll get him for less money.

Long is not and was not better than Pouncey. Long isn't the player he once was. Long was a good draft pick who turned into an average player.

He was better than Pouncey last year, that's for sure.

Why isn't Moses a scheme fit for our offense? Bill Lazor used to be there in 2012 and they still use a zone blocking scheme...

I can't blame the FO for wnting to protect Tannehill's blind side. I hop we get hm but I also hope we don't do a Wallace type of contract (17mill fr one season)......if they can get someting like Grimes it'd be awesome.

Ozzy rules!!

Because who wants a tackle than can block the equivalent of what is the ungodly amount of times Wallace blew by a cornerback.

On the other hand, we do have an entire oline to fix.

This is where a capable GM comes in handy. Can he find a RT and G in the draft that can successfully start one being Richmond Webb? Can he find a G in free agency that wont break bank and isnt a star but, at least, not get Tannehill killed?

Whatever we think of Hickey, there is one certainty: he inherited one hell of a mess.

Paying top dollar for Cornfed is a huge mistake.

Veldheeer and Monroe are the same age. Yes, Veldheer was injured last year, but that's how you'll get him for less money.

Mudder I know what your saying, but I am just a bit nervous with a player that has some injury history compared to one that has none. Veldheer may end up being the better move, as well as the cheaper move, but after all the problems with the O-line last year, I just want the safer move.
