I could be wrong but the sporting agency & agent that represents Monroe has never had a client sign for the money Monroe is about to get. I did a little research and found that Eugene Monroe was one of Sanat Shah's first clients if not the very first. Monroe's new deal could represent a lot for a little known agent like Sunny Shah of 320Sports. If he leaves money out in free agency, especially when a team like Miami is willing to overpay it could hinder his business. Shah must show other potential clients he could get the best deal possible & show them the money, so I sincerely doubt Monroe is going to take a deal from Baltimore without knowing what is out there, especially when rumors suggesting Miami wants to pay him top LT money.
If the entire NFL world knows the Dolphins are willing to pay a huge sum to Eugene Monroe you truly believe his agent is not aware. Shah depends on this deal just as much as his client, I cannot see him settling for anything that is not the best deal, which in NFL terms means the most money.
Hickey has done business in the past with Monroe's agent. Bucs signed Eric Page just last year & in 2011 TE Collin Franklin both clients of 320sports.
