Dolphins pursuing Carson Palmer?

#1- That's exactly what I have been thinking from day one!

#2- Take that picture away!! it took me 20 minutes to get through your one sentence, I can't focus!! :d-day:

ha you make 2 very good points.

The guy who reported this said it came from the same source that told him about the Larry Johnson and Kyle Orton signing/rumor. Still can't see Ross letting this move happen.

i like how people assume andrew luck wont be another ryan leaf...

Assuming that Aaron Rodgers, Matt Ryan and Drew Brees "aren't good enough" has put this team in a bind for years. I'm one of, if not the biggest supporter of Chad Henne on this site . . . however if the Dolphins continue down this road of failure this season, they need to do EVERYTHING they can to get their hands on Andrew Luck or Matt Barkley. Not rolling the dice on a first round QB hasn't worked for almost 30 years since drafting Marino . . . its about time Miami takes that chance . . . and if it doesn't work out, what have you really lost? It has been 40 years since we won anything. How we have been drafting apparantely hasn't been working.

And stop comparing him to Ryan Leaf, they aren't even in the same ballpark as QB's. Luck's maturity, instincts and smarts are wayyyy ahead of Leaf's . . . plus he has the mobility and he is extremely accurate on the run. Andrew Luck compares more to Aaron Rodgers except he is more polished than Rodgers coming out of Cal. The only thing Ryan Leaf has over Andrew Luck is arm strength . . . which as we see with Henne isn't everything you need to be a successful QB in the NFL. Arm strength is probably the most overrated thing about a QB . . . its only important when your QB has other tools to go with it. Andrew Luck has more than enough arm to be successful in this league.

That being said, there is no such thing as a "can't miss" prospect . . . but Luck is the closest thing the draft has seen to that at QB in quite a while. He is worth rolling the dice on.

I could imagine what would happen to this board if this actually happens.

so is palmer gonna stop marshall from dropping touchdown passes?

heat season couldnt start any sooner..

Do it!!!!! This will absolutely guarantee us to lock up Luck at the #1 pick.
Nothing like learning an entire new offense at week 4. This FO is scratching to stay alive.

Trading for Palmer is beyond stupid.

The Fins need a HC. Maybe they need a new GM as well, but Sparano should have been fired after last season. A good HC, not necessarily one of the biggest names out there, but a guy who has had success as a HC, could make Miami a better team just with the players already on the roster.

Trading picks to get a 30-something QB is NOT a good move for a team that looks to be in need of some serious upgrading. The Fins are NOT just a QB away from being a playoff team.

There is no way this is a true story. Even the Dolphins are not this stupid, are they?

It just doesn't make any sense. They had chances to draft a QB in the 1st 2 rounds. They had chances to pick up a veteran in the off season, they kind of did with Moore. Now the season rolls around and Henne is playing about as good as we could have hoped. We knew the limits with Henne going in and I think most that follow the Dolphins think he could have been a lot worse this year. So now they are going to bring in a QB that hasn't been to training camp, doesn't know the offense, and probably wouldn't do any better.

This team is headed for a top 5 draft pick, see how the college season shakes out I think they will find QB worth taking. It's the right way to do it. I know Brady is an exception but looking at most of the decent teams the QB they have starting is a 1st round pick.
