Dolphins pursuing Carson Palmer?

Do it!!!!! This will absolutely guarantee us to lock up Luck at the #1 pick.
Nothing like learning an entire new offense at week 4. This FO is scratching to stay alive.

The problem with this scenario is that the Fins couldn't afford both Palmer AND Luck, so trading for Palmer precludes drafting Luck or any other QB in the first round. Palmer's got a pretty hefty contract.

Does Palmer score in the redzone? How many career Td's has he thrown? Game winning drives to his credit?

The Biggie...

Can he get 15 yards w/ 1:00 on the clock & 4 downs to work with? Can he do it?

If the answer to any of these questions is "yes" ...How can he hurt us?

He would cost us a draft pick. We don't need a washed up QB on a bad team. This team needs to rebuild not patch up the QB position.

The longer this remains the only source citing this information the less I believe it. ESPN or NFLN would be covering this if there was merit, unless they already reported the story and I didn't see it.

Thing is the #1 pick does not mean we get a instant problem solver. I see a lot of post that assume we need to get the #1 pick like that will makes us a immediate contender next season. No...Our last #1 overall got us a LT that does his job most of the time but we still stink just as bad or worse than we did before he came to the MIA.

Nah...I would welcome fresh air in the offense. I would love to see more Td's than Fg's. If there is a player anywhere that could help...Just bring it.

If we trade for Palmer, Im done with this Franchise. Especially if it is for a high pick, if we give up crap then I wont mind.

Agreed. At the very least, PFT would have something... the very least...

Luck would only be getting a rookie contract.

At least the Bills fan can spell our coaches name right! Congrats.

lol, why is this thread still alive? i dont think their was any truth to this to begin with, it just would not make any sense.

it would have been one thing to get palmer before the season started, but being 0-3 already, 3 games out of the division, a division loss already, cant win at home, its going to be extremely hard to go anywhere this season now.

im never gonna root against the dolphins, and i never have, even when we have sucked in other years in order to get a better draft pick, because in other years, although players were still good coming out, their wasnt that once in a generation guy to come out in the draft.

this year, andrew ****ing luck can change our franchise for the next 15 years. we can win not a superbowl, but SUPERBOWLS!!!!!. in one scouting report i read about him, they compared him to the kind of franchise changing player he can be like lebron james. as much as i dont like lebron james, if the guy is anywhere comparable to lebron james talent wise, we must get him.

if carson palmer was going to come here and get us to a 13-3 record and a superbowl, then im sure 100% of finheaven would love it and wouldnt care about sucking for luck.

unforutnately, it would be more likely that he would come here and bring us to a 7-9, 8-8 record and we would not make the playoffs, and would be stuck picking 15-16 overall

Why do you have a Brandon Marshall signature wearing a #15 Dolphins Jersey? That's the really important question of this thread.

It is funny how people think Carson Palmer is getting up off the couch, behind this terrible oline, no training camp and a new system filled with players he has no familiarity with . . . and can lead us to a decent record. And then to get him, we would need to give up a 2nd or a 3rd and what is it . . . 12 million a season until 2015. That is rididculous to even think about.

You ride Henne/Sparano until the wheels fall off and you endure this season if it turns as ugly as some think it will . . . hopefully you get a chance at Luck or Barkley come April 2012. QB's all over the league are taking the reins young . . . we don't need a 14 million dollar tudor in Palmer. Palmer would be a mistake . . . and I honestly think he'd be ALOT worse than Chad Henne if he was brought in right now.

Heh, I've always said Ireland has a hard-on for Palmer and that Palmer was his #1 QB target all along. But man, if the Dolphins were still planning on getting him at this point, that would surprise me. But it would be a typical, assinine Dolphins move.

The only logic I can squeeze from this lemon is they want Palmer to groom Luck and show him how to lead a team. There's no way that having Palmer now will net us any more wins than Henne at this point.
