neither monroe or albert is elite

What is your solution be at LT?

And a horrible run blocker. Put them together and you get an average to slightly above average LT. Far from elite.

"Horrible run blocker" is too much hyperbole for me to get in a legit argument with you.

You do not sign a LT to be the catalyst of your run game. You sign him to protect your developing QB.

Saffold has played at the tackle position more then he has guard so far in his NFL career. The only reason he stepped in at guard last year was because of injuries. I personally think he can be a top 10-15 tackle in this league.

Probably in your best interest to not get into an "argument" with me. You'd lose. Simply put, you're delusional if you think Brandon Albert is elite. And who said anything about signing a LT to be the catalyst of your running game? You'd like for him to hold up in it but Albert is down right awful at it.

Brandon Albert and elite LT? You must be kidding. Such a ridiculous statement

Man if we can snag 2 starters for this line via free agency, we can go into the draft with open minds.. Take BPA at 19. We could be drafting just about anybody there except for QB or RB

Chill out man. Hayden is usually pretty insightful about players. I agree with you on Albert on this matter but no need to get your panties in a bunch

J Tes I don't know who the hell you think you are like you know everything about whos the best and whos not the best at every position. I think the Dolphins organization knows a hell of a lot more than any of us on here know. And I think Hayden is right, Brandon Albert is one of the best left tackles in the NFL right now, and if Miami signs him I would be very excted as would the rest of the Miami nation.

I betcha I am right that whoever Albert signs with ends up having good pass protection and he goes to Hawaii again. That would settle my argument.

We do not know whether or not he lands with Miami. However, to say he sucks like many do around here is laughable.

One thought: Dolphins may be able to give the older Albert less guaranteed money in Year 3 than Monroe.

Albert & Saffold would be expensive combo but Hickey & Philbin don't mind spending in FA (although it hasn't paid off for either in past)

Some people like PFF rankings. Some don't so take this as you will.

Brandon Albert was given a grade of +14.7 for pass blocking and -2.3 at run blocking. His overall grade was +11.5 and put him 28th in the league. So PFF clearly didn't rate him as "elite".

For comparison. Monroe was given a +15.6 pass blocking grade and +1.5 at run blocking. Overall Monroe was given a +20.4 grade and 12th overall. Also not elite but considerably better than Albert and more impressive when considering he had to learn a new system mid season and has to pick up slack on Jax horrid o-line. Plus Monroe is 2 1/2 years younger and doesn't have the injury history. If Miami is to choose Albert (a mistake in my eyes) they better pay Saffold because he'll be at LT before long

I told you I would make a run at Monroe before Albert and said that in my offseason plan thread. However, people that keep saying that Albert is sack of garbage are just plain wrong. He is a skilled pass blocker that if he were a Fin in 2013, they would have gone to the playoffs.

I thought the cat was already out of the bag and Albert was signing with Arizona. Has the general opinion on this changed now?
