Dolphins RB Moreno Not Looking Good?

Its a little concerning but I'm not worried quite yet. Players are allowed to take the offseason and heal a little bit. Its not hard to drop 10-15 pounds, just as long as he hasn't let his cardio go too far south.

Look, we can all stand on our soap boxes and preach that we want these players in game shape all the time... even during their "TIME OFF" in the off season. Football is HARD. We all go on vacation from our respective jobs and the point is to GET AWAY from work and RELAX... with the wear and tear of playing NFL football and the long 16 game season of practicing, playing games, working out etc... it's actually a good thing if players get away from the crazy workouts they do during training camp and throughout the "VOLUNTARY" offseason conditioning programs. especially for guy's that have been in the league for a while and knows what type of shape they'll need to be in come training camp. It should be enough for vet players to maintain a good level of conditioning so that when training camp does start they can at least pass the conditioning test. But to expect players to stay in game shape during the offseason is a bit much. Unless that said player is trying to transform their bodies to play another position or to fit better at the position they are playing. Some veterans strategically skip training camp and\or OTA's just so they don't have to go through the rigors of the crazy workouts. (Mike Strahan) If Moreno, is out of shape come training camp, or if he fails to pass a conditioning test... then i'd be worried but because he seems a little "pudgy" during OTA's i'm not worried at all.

ehhh we got a month and a half plus til it really matters...although my broncos fan buddy said that this has pretty much been a part of moreno since he came in the pros...report out of shape get in the dog house for one reason or another etc...except for 2013...

basically he texted me and said we are getting the 09 version of knowshown it appears

Seems too early to make any final analysis yet. They haven't even put on the pads. Remember Lorenzo Booker looked phenomenal this time of year ... and after we let him go he couldn't latch on anywhere. His stint with Philadelphia didn't last even the rest of the year if I recall correctly.

Improvement. Learning assignments. Those are the things we are really looking to find from guys this camp.

Sent from my phone, so please forgive any typos.

Rugby is equally hard. Players play double the number of (80 minute games) and don't benefit from breaks during them. The pro guys rarely if ever show up as out of shape as some of the NFL guys.

It is by no means too much to expect pro athletes to stay in shape. They may need to get into top condition after the layoff, but there's no excuse for letting yourself go.

Its June, who cares?

The guy just came off a long season and a SB loss in Feb....he is not young, give him a chance to let his body heal, hope he was relaxing on some exotic beach out of the country....now the OTA start, time to get to work, learn the play book, work out at Davie over the summer, build his relationships with his teammates... if he shows up out of shape in July then that's a problem....

I hope the 09 version put up some good numbers......

Ah...I see Damian Williams is everyone's darling this year...

I don't know what anyone else likes about him, but hes way better than his draft position. In RB talent terms, he's probably a fourth round pick. I'd expect him to contribute more than Walt Aikens, if his attitude is right.

Moreno doesn't look too out of shape.

Remember when everyone lost their **** when Ronnie Brown was at 8% body fat instead of 6% body fat?

I wonder if the thin air of Denver is easier or more difficult on your conditioning than the humidity of Miami. Hopefully the fact that he was able to prepare enough for another extreme climate translates to him doing so here.

Eh I watched him a bit...his measurables didn't pop out the way they should. I actually was more impressed with Orleans Darkwa's skill set when I watched him.
