Look, we can all stand on our soap boxes and preach that we want these players in game shape all the time... even during their "TIME OFF" in the off season. Football is HARD. We all go on vacation from our respective jobs and the point is to GET AWAY from work and RELAX... with the wear and tear of playing NFL football and the long 16 game season of practicing, playing games, working out etc... it's actually a good thing if players get away from the crazy workouts they do during training camp and throughout the "VOLUNTARY" offseason conditioning programs. especially for guy's that have been in the league for a while and knows what type of shape they'll need to be in come training camp. It should be enough for vet players to maintain a good level of conditioning so that when training camp does start they can at least pass the conditioning test. But to expect players to stay in game shape during the offseason is a bit much. Unless that said player is trying to transform their bodies to play another position or to fit better at the position they are playing. Some veterans strategically skip training camp and\or OTA's just so they don't have to go through the rigors of the crazy workouts. (Mike Strahan) If Moreno, is out of shape come training camp, or if he fails to pass a conditioning test... then i'd be worried but because he seems a little "pudgy" during OTA's i'm not worried at all.
