1. The Dolphins are ignoring entire chapters of their playbook so that 2018 regular-season opponents don’t get an early look at some of their best plays.
2. Frank Gore might be their most effective red-zone weapon, and he has not seen a single snap of preseason action.

I have done some bitching .and complaining here the last couple of days, since the no-show the other night. Now I realize that it is prudent to maintain some perspective.

The article made a couple of valid points, and Gases attitude makes me feel a bit better about the situation.

Patience is a virtue, I am told. Its tough though.
 
I am going to be honest, I am not sold on Frank Gore being an upgrade over Kenyan Drake anywhere on the field. Gore is 35 years old and his efficiency has been declining steadily year after year.

I like the signing as a veteran presence, but I don't buy that he will be better than Drake in the red zone.

He will be great near the goal line. He has an amazing ability to gain yards with the smallest crease. Very few negative yards when Gore gets the ball.
 
Didn’t matter if Gore or Drake got the ball the other night. Or Csonka or Kiick.

Other guys made sure to **** up enough to boot us back.

It’s penalties. Gore can not overcome holding, delay of game, or false starts.
 
Some RB's have an uncanny ability to score when near the endzone. Hopefully Gore is one of them.
 
I wasn't sold on the Gore signing either, but the more I read about him the better I feel. According to reports, he can make positive yards with the smallest crease. He can read defenses and find the right hole to hit. Feel he definitely will be an asset in short yardage and in red zone.
 
Gore has only scored 7 TDs on 524 rushes the past two years. I'm not thinking he's the answer to our red zone woes.
 
Gore has never been a huge red-zone threat. He can get the short yardage TD, but he's not creating mismatches. Not sure what Adam Beasley is talking about in that article.
 
Tannehill looked great. He has command of the offense. The biggest problem on offense were negative running plays that killed a few drives. On defense the linebackers blew a few coverage's and over ran a few running plays. There were positives. Even the kickers looked decent.
 
Gase QBs are consistently good in the red zone. Cutler had 15 TDs to 2 INTs 90 passer rating. The Year before Tannehill has 11 TDs to 0 INTs. 119 passer rating. Even Matt Moore in 2016 had 5 TDs to 0 INTs 122 passer rating. So I'm not worried about the passing game in the redzone and Gesicki will only help.

Frank Gore has good vision but I wouldn't call him a goal line back his career TDs are relatively low considering his other HOF numbers. Ballage needs to be the goal line back

This, if Gase can get Landry nine touchdowns (13 TDs in previous three years) then I'm not concerned, Gesicki, Wilson and Amendola will only help. Big issue is can we consistently punch it in via the running game in goal line situations, hopefully the trio of Drake, Gore and Ballage will come good here.
 
Biggest concern is penalties. Clean those up and let's see if they can punch it in.
