This just popped up on my espn app. Regardless of who we ultimately get, they are seemingly searching the best young talent there is. I like that they are not fixated on the retreads. We need some young, cutting-edge leadership to combine with Philbin's demeanor and overall experience.

This guy says Dolphins informed Eagles did not have to ask permission.

Because GM would be a promotion for Tom Gamble, Eagles do not need to grant permission. Bucs, Dolphins notify Eagles, don't ask permission.

I would be more than happy to land either Gamble or DeCosta. Things would certainly look alot better around here immediately.

Doesn't mean Gamble will take it. He came home partly to be near parents and father, Harry, former #Eagles GM is currently in hospice care.

I think this is why you've seen Gamble's name kind of fall off the radar a little bit and probably why he decided to move back to Philadelphia in the first place. I don't think he particularly wants to go anywhere right now, and I don't blame him.

That said, if he is willing, I'm willing. He's the top candidate out there, imo.

Yeah, with his father in hospice, I doubt he wants to go anywhere.

he was the frontrunner for us, he cancelled other interviews b/c he thought he was getting the job and NY isn't far from Philly then he fell off the map. I would love to find out the whole story, the whole thing was very odd.

even above DeCosta?

DeCosta has no interest in leaving Baltimore. He's the GM in waiting, he's getting paid like a GM, he's familiar with his surroundings, the way they do business and everything is already in place. Plus right now he has no pressure. If the draft is bad Newsome gets the blame.

Remember once you end up in Hospice care you don't usually last too long, 2-3 months. So that might not apply in the long run with taking a GM job here.

It's not hard to get from Miami to Philly if his dad's health is an issue. In fact I'd be willing to bet Ross would make his plane available all the time if it were a deal breaker.

Saw a tweet saying Gamble is wanting to interview and his situation with his dad will not keep him from being our GM if he gets the job

My thought is why couldn't his dad move to Miami?

Don't older ppl move from the north to Miami daily?
