I do not think he is that established that he needs a long commitment.
so whats the number HAYDEN? hickey has 18 years as a personel, scout and assistant gm under his belt, not only being instrumental in bringing in pro bowlers and hall of famers during his time but being part of a team that was a perennial playoff team and a superbowl winner.
if thats not qualified, what is? how many years exactly before you consider a guy "established"?
and as far as BIG COMMITMENT goes, i personally dont like giving most hires more than 4 years, and anything under looks like their scared of their choice. but, is 4 years a big commitment for you? you dont think under 4 years is looking scared?
Well, I guess I'm back to hating everything about this hire and top level leadership. Ugh, so disappointing
Ross has shown almost too much loyalty to his employees.
Give they guy a chance before you say s**t like this smh
yes, you can fire an employee in the nfl. However most of the management level jobs are on a buyout basis. fire hickey after 1 year? you're paying him the rest of his contract to go sit on his ass at home. Profit.
MIAMI -- The Dolphins' roller-coaster search for a general manager ended last week when they hired Dennis Hickey. But it appears the team may have hedged its bet.
The Dolphins signed Hickey to a two-year contract, multiple sources have informed ESPN.com. The typical contract length for new general managers is three to five years.
When did you ever stop hating? I swear some of you guys need to take a break from the internet.
I will give him a chance. However, I liked the idea that he was linked to Joe contractually to attempt to turn the team around. Also, I am not sure why you want him longterm and setting the course for the franchise for years to come. I do not think he is that established that he needs a long commitment.
When did I state my opinion of whether or not I want him long term? I was just pointing out that you are so quick to criticize ever move and you don't know how things will turn out. I'm in a "wait and see" mindset before I form any opinions. Never have I stated that I "want him longterm and setting the course for the franchise for years to come."
EDIT: see my next post, messed up the quoting
