Dolphins sign Delmas

Why the hate for delmas?

More combined tackes, more total tackles, more assisted tackles, more sacks, more fumbles recovered, more interceptions than clemons.

plus he's a vocal leader...soemthing this team is severely lacking.

worst case scenario, he blows and is gone after a year. Best case scenario, you get a difference maker and a leader who will be 28 going into the 2015 season.

And for those complaining he's a lot like Jones, in a lot of ways he is, but in the Mike Zimmer/Kevin Coyle defense it doesn't matter

Summed up perfectly

I like it. Low contract price, one year term and a good player.

Now on to tomorrow.....

I really like the Louis Delmas & Brent Grimes signings & think #Dolphins rookie GM Dennis Hickey is off to a promising start.

There is nothing not to like about this move. It's smart. We saved money, we upgraded in my opinion. Delmas has more potential to be a playmaker back there for us than Clemons. Secondary could be shaping up nicely. Hopefully, the light turns on for Davis and/or Taylor too.

Delmas has been to the Pro Bowl twice. I can't remember Clemons ever going and I have a pretty good memory. Delmas also has some kind of crazy record for returning an interception and fumble for a TD and getting a safety as a rookie. He is the first rookie to ever do it and only the second player in NFL history to do it. The guy was the 33rd player drafted in 2009. That's an upgrade over Clemons plus he is a vocal leader who plays with great passion and pride. Byrd wanted too much money and we have an o-line to put together. Good move imo.

Delmas played 1018 of a possible 1032 snaps this season past.

The degenerative knee thing is a clear concern over time. But a one year deal removes most of that concern.

degenerative knee condition...didn't even know that...sounds like bone on bone type stuff...awesome...kind of thing that has your stock drop off the table in the draft if they come across it

We're just getting started.

There's a lot of sleeve-rolling ahead. We need another O lineman besides Albert, hopefully, then a couple more out of the draft. Then there's the D line, then there's the linebacker situation.
