Dolphins sign Jaguars wr Stephen Williams

Hope he is better then the last Jags WR we signed Ernest Wilford!

You laugh but what our offseason moves tell me is that we are absolutely going to run 4 wide sets with Charles Clay as our 5th skill player, and 5 wide sets, a LOT this season.

That combined with the all the RB's we didn't run the card up the podium for-Agree.

Know what number Williams doesnt have? 1k yards. Brian Hartline does. He did it twice. Let me repeat that: he did it twice.

Who needs a red zone target when you have a wide receiver who has two 1000 yard seasons? Hes Tannehill's best weapon and he has two 1000 yard seasons and so we shouldnt be signing receivers. Horrible job Hickey, horrible job, know whats on your roster buddy.

6'5" is a number none of Miami's other receivers have. If you were looking for a red zone target that dude might be one. What's the worst that can happen? He stinks and is gone.

I think that was likely the main reason for the signing. We're in need of a BIG target, and 6'5" is BIG.

Last time i checked yards don't win games Points do. How many points did Hartline score? until we have a WR corps that can score TD's I say we keep signing them until we find em.

Well the guys on this board whose opinions I trust on players believe that James will be rock solid in pass pro, and I'm pretty sure Albert will be that, too. I do look for more 4-5 wide sets, absolutely. I think that's what Joe Philbin is dying to run.

I don't necessarily think that's the best idea in the world, but with our personnel, I honestly think putting Wallace, Hartline, Gibson, (Landry?) and Clay on the field at the same time can be our best option in a lot of cases. Maybe I'm crazy, but I think Charles Clay is a viable ball-carrier out of the backfield.

This team is out of its damn mind if it wants to run 5-wide.

Yes Hoops this is the same Stephen Williams that was in Seattle. I think he plays a lot like a bigger version of Brian Tyms.

So then he plays like a nobody.

I'm beginning to think that Hickey might have a touch of dyslexia where when he sees "available WR" - his synapses fire off as "available RB"

Or he may not like our WR corps as it is assembled right now.

So he goes out and signs a wide receiver who has 0 tds since 2010
and 0 receptions in the past 3 years...sounds like the ultimate sleeper

Ok somebody is seriously not alright post surgery.
Maybe Bill Lazor is setting things up for huge competition. He is fired up to succeed in his new role as Offensive Coordinator. He is looking at all sorts of different options and had success creating and exploiting mismatches last year in Philadelphia with Chip Kelly.
Interesting signing because of his height.

Only on a Miami Dolphins forum would a guy who has 9 receptions in 4 years make this much buzz.

LMFAO. Let's cut Wallace and/or Hartline and plug this awesome receiver (bum) in right now, he's an all pro!!!!!!!!! Reason: He's 6'5" and we'll save cap space!

This guy has as much chance of making the team as I do

Whilst Hartline who could break a team hisrory reciever record next year continues to be mocked

Odd fanbase

I mean I get it, Hartline isn't a flashy guy, you get what you get, he isn't ever going to be your true #1 but damn why would you just cut/trade a guy who isn't your worst player even at his position?

Sometimes I just shake my head. What do you want to bet Tom Brady or Peyton Manning would be glad to have a guy like Hartline working his ass off for them.

Don't have an issue with this. RT needs accuracy practice, long ball practice, and we all know that Hartline, Landry, Wallace and clay are locks for the team, so why not look at other WR, all whilst giving RT practice.
