Dolphins sign Packers' FB John Lovett

He spent his first season on the Chiefs injury reserve list. Last year he was cut by the Packers after failing his physical.
Yet he played QB at Princeton and we know McDaniel loves those fellow Ivy Leaguers. So at last he will get an opportunity if he can stay healthy.
 
I haven't read this whole thread, so let me know if I'm the first one to say that "he's going to be our Deebo Samuel!"

Yeah I remember when we picked up Cox from Auburn. We hardly used him. Then the following season we went with ole Chan and changed the offense again. I think McDaniel is a lot more creative with his players. I’m all for having a FB.

Byars has always been a favorite of mine. Not only am I a Buckeye fan, but I was a closet Iggles fan during the late 80’s and early 90’s when they had Randall Cunningham, Cris Carter, Mike Quick, Reggie White, Seth Joyner, Jerome Brown, Andre Waters and of course Keith Byars.

I remember being psyched out of my mind when Miami landed Byars. I still remember the long TD run he had in Dallas during the infamous snow Leon Lett game.


Byars, Keith Jackson, and Irving Fryar remain some of the most notable acquisitions that really had me excited. I always wanted MIA to get Marcus Allen to play with Danny Marino but that never happened unfortunately. All I have are a few memories of seeing Marino toss passes to Marcus in the Pro Bowl.

45 offensive snaps in 8 games and 112 special team snaps, 1 kick return for 5 yards, 3 rushes for 6 yards, 4 tackles
Lovett would end up playing in eight games total, but suffered a torn ACL during practice around midseason and finished the year on injured reserve.

That knee injury is surely the reason for Lovett’s failed physical designation. Lovett also spent the entirety of the 2019 season on the Kansas City Chiefs’ injured reserve list with a shoulder injury

Did that Eagles team have Keith Jackson as well? My roommate was a huge Eagles fan - we watched Shula get his record win together in ‘93.
