Dolphins Sign S Ifeatu Melifonwu

Seems like Holland was injured all the time too, and this guy atleast plays well when hes on the field. Sucks but when you dont have much cap to spend you have to spend like this. No way we could have afforded alot of these contracts
The cap is not real. We can sign players to $100 million worth of contracts with combined cap numbers of less than $10 million in 2025. You can do that forever, paying today’s team tomorrow (and tomorrow’s team in 2027, etc.).

It is a matter of creativity and conviction, of which we have neither.

I agree but Grier is taking it to the extreme. At some point you have to start valuing health over talent, you can't just keep signing guys that are injury risks and then blame injuries for the season going to crap or saying "NFL injury rate is 100%" etc.

Miami has enough top end talent that are injury risks, what it needs in a lot of places is solid guys who don't get injured. When a lot of your best players traditionally end the season on IR it's a major issue and he's just compounding it by adding more injury risk players.

Yeah, it's not good

I mean, let's say the PHINZ go get Jenkins.

Daniels and Jenkins are great when healthy. The problem is it will prevent the PHINZ from drafting young good talent at IOL.

Meanwhile, come week 6, who's actually starting.

Rather then signing another injury plagued guy, just draft young healthy talent.

At least this signing should not prevent them from drafting safety high.

Get ready for the Bosa signing lol

sign as many Lions as possible. bring some of that here. except the dombass coaching.

This cannot be plan A….

Plan E.

Plan A seemed impossible once they tried.
Plan B was laughed at.
Plan C was too much work.
Plan D fell by the way side.
Plan E took a few prayers, but happened.

Are we trying to win an award for the team with the most repaired Achilles tendons?
Yes yes we are :)

In fairness to this one I don’t believe he ruptured or tore it

But, it may shows signs of weakness in that area and could blow soon :)

This guy is great when he is healthy. The only issue is is that he's never healthy. If he had a better body of work in terms of games played he would have been paid a lot more by someone else. This kind of reminds me of the Deshon Elliott signing, another Lions safety who had some injury issues, signed a one year deal and was able to stay healthy most of the year and have a great season for us. Hoping for the same result here

Safeties rarely stay healthy. That is why I am against drafting one at 13. All teams should be

Grier takes on an extreme amount of these risk players. And the main reason he has to is because of himself to start with. Horrible drafter, especially after the 1st round. He barely drafts starter (or trades all those picks for high priced vets) in the mid rounds. You have to at least draft some serviceable starters and good depth guys in those rounds. To fill out good rosters, without forcing yourself into barging hunting in the hospital dumpster, you need some starters on ELCs. We lack that. Now go look at the Bills or Chiefs rosters and compare the amount of drafted guys on ELC vs Miami. Massive difference. Hence Grier is a very poor NFL GM.
He is also responsible for every goo player we have now. Glass half full? Yours is obvious. Who would you replace him with??? There are not 24 of anything that is NFL worthy for the $$$ spent by us fans. That includes Owners, GM's, Coaches, QB's...etc. We have had a string of losers at GM, you want to take a chance on a 10 year setback by starting over with un-proven GM talent? I am not so inclined.

Good signing and he will start if healthy. Remember we have to replace both safety positions because Poyer was so bad and Holland leaving for NYG and was terrible last year.
