Field Yates of ESPNSeports that the Miami Dolphins have signed veteran C Samson Satele to a contract on Saturday.
Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reported a few days ago that the Dolphins still had Satele on their radar as their current group of centers had struggled to solidify the job in training camp.
Satele, 29, actually worked out for the Dolphins close to a month ago along with Steve Vallos. Satele makes sense for the Miami as he was one of the best available players at the center position.
Last year, Satele appeared in 13 games for the Colts and graded out as the No. 32 center out of 35 qualifying players, according to Pro Football Focus. His rating is due to a poor rating as a run-blocker.

meh not sure hes much of an upgrade over Garner... despite this weeks fuss. He is crap

Wow...they must seriously have little trust in Garner and co. Isn't a big part of ZBS being able to block for the run downfield?
 
I think garner is fine but they need a capable guy behind him
 
I don't think it really has anything to do with Garner. They have NOTHING at that position behind Garner, and Pouncey is up in the air. Even if Satele doesn't start, he is much needed depth for a very thin OL
 
He was needed even if just as a backup.

Good signing. If Garner had gone down and Satale was picked up by some other team, we'd be in even bigger trouble.
 
If satele plays scratch the inside run game in short yardage...better go to the left side as much as possible cause James is gonna lose a plenty in short yardage on the right side...22 reps of 225 you can tell it off his college tape...must get stronger more positional run blocker than anything else right now...
 
Whats the word on larsen? Havent heard much on him. As far as Satele, at least we wont have to worry about the snap.
