Dolphins take Kaddu??? WHOOOO

Exactly! If they wanted an LB. Tank Carder was right there...just make the pick. Instead, we pass for a guy who only had 108 tackles in two years...ridiculous!

Carder was the guy i wanted too. Solid player. Smart, instinctive and tough.

Slimm,
What is it that you like about him? Yeah he has nice measureables, but i think he struggles with instincts and really didn't make a lot of plays for a defense that usually allows playmakers to do so in Oregon. He was 6th on the team in tackles and did very little against the better teams on the schedule (Wisconsin, USC, Cal.....7 tackles, 1 for loss). His big games were against Arizona State and Colorado. I don't see him anything more than a backup and special teamer.

Oregon's undersized front is overmatched against the power of Wisconsin's offensive line. You can pin point a lot of games for every prospect in this draft being ineffective in certain games, especially front 7 players on the defensive side of the football. Some of them went in the 1st round.

The point is, Kuddu was also 2nd on the team in TFL's and sacks. He makes a lot of splash plays.

He's not the best player on that defense, the safety John Boyett is.

However, Kaddu is a very fast and athletic specimen at that size. He has room to add some bulk to his frame and improve.

He may very well be a backup and special teams player, especially to begin with. I like his effort and his upside.

I live in Portland and have seen more than my share of Duck games...when I see Kaddu and Carder...I would have taken Carder. No reason to have dropped down for this...

You can't evaluate a player without watching his games several times. Stopping the tape... backing it up... and watching it over and over again.

If we're going to complain about the players we passed up, we need to start from the beginning. I have a bunch.

I hope this guy works out. I liked the other picks a lot more, and even the Cunningham pick works for me....but maybe this kid can bulk up, or else play Safety???

As a USC alum and fan I've seen plenty of Kaddu. Narrow framed chaser. Nice burst, hips and range but I never thought he was mean enough. That offense allowed for so many lopsided games that the clean up crew should have feasted. Teams like Wisconsin and USC nullified plenty of his strengths by running smack at Oregon. Kiffin at USC was an interesting study in that he relied on bubble screens in many hum dum games but in pivotal matchups on the road against Notre Dame and Oregon he unleashed the offensive line and ran smack at the opponent as considerable underdog, winning both games. It was more of an SEC approach, like the one that enabled outmanned Tennessee to nearly defeat Alabama and Florida on the road in Kiffin's one season at Knoxville.

Kaddu certainly looks the part. Shouldn't be any problem adding weight and strength, at least in the upper body.

If we ever get around to trying to block kicks again, a build and skill set like his would be ideal.

did you know who Zack Thomas was when Jimmy drafted him in the 5th round out of Texas Tech. Let it play out. These guys study these players more than we do.

I'm not too worried about a 5th round pick. The linebacker position is a safe bet since they can play ST and we have a lot of receivers right now even if some won't make it through camp

I can hear the Stadium erupt in chant's when this guy makes plays "NO KADDU" as in "No Can Do" to opponents he stops behind the line or at the line of scrimmage .. LOL!!!
