Dolphins to place Martin on reserve/non-football injury list

Maybe the whole 'bullying' thing is just a big smoke screen.

He really wanted to play Left Tackle, he made that very clear all off season, now Mckinnie is the starting left tackle...

Maybe he just can't deal with that & it's just as simple as that?

That's a very good point. That's when the issue seemed to pop up.

Jonathan Martin BETTER be right with everything he is saying. I think he is a snake. Nothing that is being said is not something that is out of the ordinary within a locker room. Martin is buckling under the stress of sucking on the field, getting pushed around ON the field, getting his special position switched and using the **** he was taking as a way out. That is what I think.

He runs to his parents. Unreal.

Did Martin ever go to Joe?

Did Joe ever observe this ****?

I do think the problem here is with Jon Martin, but if some of the things coming out are true, Richie Incognito is a ****ing dickbag and needs to be shown the door. Preferably sooner than his contract expires, IMO.

I don't feel comfortable with him at tackle. Give me Clabo.

Hayden, this statement of yours is amazing to me. Just a few weeks ago you called him complete garbage I believe. did you not? Not trying to start something here with you but I just find it amusing. I can be wrong about things and have been in the past, but just funny.

My opinon on Martin is based solely on Martin's frame of mind about playing football. If he changes his mind and says he just needed some time away, then you have to consider the big picture of contract, need, ect ect. If he comes back, he should be taken back based on those forementioned things and he does not get to start, but has to wait until he is presented an opportunity. Because you just dont know if we go into playoffs and the need suddenly is there.

After the season, you reconsider his long term as a Dolphin. But everything would depend on what really happened within and his mindset about football. He is still a talented young football player who put in alot of time in offseason. He may be pissed about his move to RT. There are things to be considered here still with unknowns.

Don't pay him another dime, best of luck in your next job,......see ya!

Dude's a quitter. Cut him and move on.

I supported Ricky because he had a real history of psychological problems and didn't leave in the middle of the season. He was also going to be suspended anyway due to drug violations, so leaving didn't really make a difference.

Ricky also dealt with his issues and came back to the team. He faced up to his mistakes and reinserted himself back into a locker room he had abandoned and which many players likely harbored resentment for him. He dealt with the awkward situation and won over his teammates (like JT) with his exceptional work ethic and contributions.

I don't see the same happening with J Martin.

Ricky Williams was an outstanding football player.

Jonathan Martin is not.

When a great football player with unique talents has a situation like this, you accept them back into the fold afterward because they can make a significant contribution to the team and help you win football games. When a third rate tackle has a situation like this, do you really want him back?

Clabo is working to help his team and is not a snake....stand up guy. I will take that over a sneaky **** like Martin....how is that?

I think this is closer to home then any of the other speculation ive heard.

And i dont even think its simply playing left tackle, i think Martin is just stressed out on the business that is football. His entire life its been an outlet and way to have fun. Now its a responsibility and he has people controlling what he eats, how he works out, what he can say, and at any point for reasons that are not his fault whatsoever he can get "demoted" to another position that will ultimately land him far less money when he cashes in. Couple that with the lack of safety net that is a college program(where he dealt with much of the same stuff but could duck behind coaches or others who would take care of stuff), and i think hes just...done. Done with it all.

this may be true but you didnt say why? This is what I find so frustrating about peoples opinions around here, you dont back them up with anything. Therefore, its just your gut reaction. Its not really an opinion based on anything in fact other than "he quit". I say, you dont consider the bigger picture since J. Martin has been here.

It looks bad for martin imo. Grow a set.

until a couple of weeks go by, you hear new stuff that is not bad reporting but is something that is stated by Martin and the Dolphins by themselves and then the picture changes.

CBS' La Canfora says Incognito likes to intentionally walk into people, make "others feel uncomfortable & make threatening remarks"to Martin.
