Carpenter was effing terrible here... Let's not forget all the games he helped us lose. Sturgis is equally as terrible as he was. Should have just signed a veteran FA kicker as there are plenty of those who are better than Sturgis.

Hindsight's always 20/20 - especially after watching Carp kick a 51 yarder last night. But the fact remains he either cost us or contributed to 2 losses in a year where our rookie QB with receivers like Legadoodoo and Gaffney were no help and he and his confidence level could have ended up 9-7 as easily as 7-9. I seem to remember a ranking where that year he was near the bottom in 40 and above yard conversions. So yes he was a changed man for Buffalo last season cuz kicking like golf has a large mental factor, but on the basis of the mental funk he was in and what it cost us, Ireland was right to move on from him.
