Dolphins vs Bills Pre-game discussion

I'm a Bills fan and here are my thoughts.

1) The Bills are not a great team. The Dolphins aren't either. I can see the Bills winning and I can also see the Dolphins winning.

2) It's amazing the overreaction Dolphins fans are having to beating an aging Patriots team with a bad OL. I mean, the Bills won last week too -- but we know better than to overreact. You would think Dolphins fans would have learned this by now. Do you not remember starting 3-0 last season? And then losing 8 of your next 13 games? I'm not even trying to talk smack. The Bills could be 5-0 and I still wouldn't believe we were any good until we were in the playoffs.

3) It's also amazing watching you act as if EJ is some terrible QB that you will easily destroy. Let me go on record by saying that many Bills fans cant stand me on the Bills forum because I am NOT a fan of EJ. I don't think he is the future. BUT - he IS at least as good as Thad Lewis, and most likely better. You remember Thad, right? The 3rd string QB who beat you not once, but TWICE, last season?

So uhm, yeah. I think the Dolphins could definitely win.

Heck, the Dolphins could end up kicking our ass all over the field.

But your overreaction to the Patriot games is hilarious.

Number 2 of what you said is a joke. I live here in WNY and Buffalo fans are saying they are going to wipe the floor with us. That overreaction goes both ways.

FWIW, last game Bills got 3 sacks, 3 hits, and 7 hurries vs what I consider a below average OL of Da Bears. They were not run on much but, did allow a good average, and they missed 12 tackles, 7 by their LB's.

We got some good help from the improved blocking of out TE's on the run but, did not keep them in on pass protect, Clay 5 times and Sims 3. James did have a few struggles in giving up a hit and 3 hurries, and I expect more help from Sims vs Mario this game. He is really much better than a year ago.

Right and I think this is where we disagree. You think that EJ wins you some of those games, and I don't think he does. I think EJ is just a more athletic Thad Lewis who got drafted in the first round and therefore you can't just cut his ass, too.

But if anything, that is good news for you. You have a talented team being held back by a doo-doo quarterback. There are far worse situations to have.

That I agree. And again I think you insert a good QB on this roster and it is a playoff roster. And I do think with say a Dalton (by no means a great QB) the Bills with current roster are in playoffs.

I do think at the end of the day the Bills will end up moving on From EJ. But also like you said it is good when you just have to find the QB and not have to entirely rebuild a roster like has happened in the past, and with the new Owner I think you will see a lot less homegrown talents leave because they are not getting market value.

I like what I have seen of Ja'Wuan James but the coaches CAN NOT leave him alone vs Mario Williams. PERIOD! Mario will get at least one clean shot on Tannehill if James is left 1on1 against him the entire game. Sims and Clay MUST be used over there to help James.

This game will be on the Dolphins offense. With the entire defense looking like a MASH unit right now, the Dolphins have to be able to sustain AND finish drives to win this game. We simply aren't going to be able to stop the Bills' rushing attack with Randy Starks and Koa Misi out.

Know better than to overreact? Dude, I live and travel throughout western NY. I listen to Bills radio all the time. Overreact?

This is what I heard yesterday all day and they wanted people to repeat it over and over again and said it was good radio

1. The Bills will win cus Kelly is cancer free. Celebration time
2. The Pats lost the opener, no mention of Dolphins, i mean, barely any respect whatsoever.
3. Terry Pegula new owner breaths life into the city and the entire fanbase will ignite Bills to a W Sunday.
4. The Dolphins suck. We beat them twice last year and Miami always beats Pats in the heat (That is not true).

The Bills fans, should you beat us Sunday, will start talking Super Bowl. It happens every time they go 2-0. It never fails. Then they continue on to not make the playoffs.

Bills fans are simply amazing how they groupthink.

Hit it on the head times a million. When Buffalo started 3-0 and beat the pats for the first time in 18 tries it was Super Bowl Bound. Listening to Buffalo radio is miserable, espicially 97 rock after a win and I normally like them. All four of your points hit it right on but don't forget that Jim Kelly is leading them on the field and Ralph Wilson is being honored which means automatic win........

Buffalo burgers on the menu. Here's something different, and very appropriate, for this weeks game party. Year's ago, I made a bet with a building inspector, who was a big Bills fan, and won. Before collecting, I was at Whole Foods market and saw ground buffalo, had to buy it for him. He laughed, with an attitude, failed my next inspection, and said we're even. :)

Jay Cutler is not a mobile QB...he's a sitting duck against any pass rush. He does a decent job working the pocket and will run if it's open but he's not mobile...but you have to get pressure on him if you hope to win cause the Bears have giants playing WR for them. Tough to cover those guys for any extended period of time.

The Bills linebacking corp is hurt by not having Kiko Alonso...that's a big miss for their defense.

Agreed. James has looked good but, he hasn't faced the likes of Mario. HAVE TO give him some help with a TE, don't think keeping a RB in will help all that much.

Yeah, and the Bills brought a lot of blitzes, which RT does very well against. They still did not bring a lot of pressure, based on what I expected.

Seven missed tackles by LB's is like Wheeler and Ellerbe in their worst game.

......seriously? I have talked to countless fans that have said that. Mainly the younger generation that don't know a thing about the Bills that are ruining your fan base. BUT there have been some older ones who except a 15 point plus victory.

You don't know your own kin. I'm a 585 native old school 716. Time and time again year after year Bills fans act like the team has arrived. They just beat the Bears IN CHICAGO. You telling me that there's not fans in the area saying something like wiping the floor with the Dolphins? Please I grew up rolling my eyes to squish the fish and belligerence. I been gone for 6 years but I doubt things have changed THAT much.

I expect a 15 plus point win EVERYTIME Bills play the Fins. But that is because I still go on the HATE that I have for the Dolphins based on the Rivalry

If I had to put money down, i'm taking the Dolphins. But it could go either way.
