You still didn't really explain what that means...
EJ's main harm is that he won't pull the trigger.
He'll throw 50 2 yard checkdowns and lose the game rather than gun it down field and throw an INT.
He's a pu$$y and not a good QB. But i'm not sure what "EJ gonna EJ" could possibly mean. He doesn't really do much.
I wondered what the hell people saw in Gabbert (and I'm pretty sure I wasn't alone). Not everybody was surprised when he showed himself up as a chickens**t in the NFL.
However, I for one couldn't say I was always convinced Manuel would prove himself a pu$$y. I'm not convinced he's destined to always be a pu$$y either. I don't think it's straightforward with Manuel. I think he has a lot of tools and - when I've seen him interviewed - he impresses me. He just doesn't project as a bust to me yet.
There's no doubt he has to get his head out of his *** and play a bit more football. But he's young and inexperienced and maybe needing a different kind of coaching/encouragement to come out of his shell.
Anyway, I just watched the Bills-Bears game and:
The good news:
1) Wake is going to abuse the Buff right tackle. It's going to be ugly on the strongside, Starks or no Starks. The line in general is OK, nothing more. The RT is a problem though.
2) McKelvin was horrible. He gave Marshall/Jeffrey a ridiculous cushion - basically handed the underneath and a number of 1st downs to them, but even then got turned and burned. You cant' call yourself a modern NFL offense if you don't hang 100yards on that kid. Buffalo has more options, esp with Gilmore coming back in (?), but any snap McKelvin is on the field is a win for us. Their safeties don't look as good as last season when Byrd was there, but CB Graham and Williams made some nice plays. There are yards to be won against the secondary though, no question.
3) They miss a good tight end. Chandler is passable in a "Fasano on a good day" kinda way, but they don't really threaten you over the middle with size. Woods is a very versatile piece for them, but he's not a matchup nightmare. Watkins did look threatening, but whereas NO really worked Cooks into the game and played to his strengths, the limitations of the Bills O and the QB didn't really help spring Watkins into a gamechanging role.
The bad news
1) Dareus and Williams as an interior tandem is a pocket-wrecker. Tannehill will be pressed to get it out quick, which is a shame when we have great deep options against that dodgy secondary. Some designed rollouts to the blindside could be needed, as Tanny is horrible in a collapsing pocket.
2) Despite losing Alonso and giving up a decent chunk of yards to Forte, the LB corps looks much better than ours.
3) Spiller showed me more than I thought he would. He's improved between the tackles and has much better vision than Miller has when he gets around the corner. I would say he's ahead of Miller and Jackson is slightly behind Moreno, in terms of comparing the two committees.
4) Dan Carpenter looked immaculate with his kicking and you can bet he still wants to crush us. He's definitely a better kicker than ours, until proven otherwise.
