Don't be playing Tua, Cheetah and or anybody else of importance in the Pre-Season PLEASE!!!

Regarding Zach Wilson, looks like it’s not as bad as it could have been but may still miss a handful of weeks.

As for Tua and the offense, I think some reps are necessary. Everything about the offense is completely brand new. I would be holding my breath with every play and hope they don’t try to do too much but not having them play all pre-season could make for a super sloppy start to the season.

I'd be just fine if there were no pre-season games at all. Joint practices and six weeks of camp should be enough of an indicator to see what we've got. Feel really bad for Zach Wilson, regardless if he's out 6 wks or the year.

These injuries are hard to see and hit close to home. For some reason it feels less precarious once the regular season starts.

Just get healthy into week 1
Why? Are you an NFL player whose career ended from an injury? Or a college player that was a first round projection until an injury derailed your career path?

Nah. I like the preseason games. Unless you're Tom Shady, you don't get to play regular season games with a red jersey.

3rd down, incomplete pass. "Personal Foul. Fingernail to the helmet of the QB. Fifteen yard penalty. Automatic first down."

This! Unfortunately risk of injury is always present and for these guys even in practice. They NEED contact and real game situation.

Clearly it doesn’t need to be the whole game etc. But at least a series.

We need some live game action for our new players and offense. The first 4 games are extremely tough and important. Starting the season 0-4 will have 80% of this board requesting a new QB. We need to come out swinging and firing on as many cylinders as possible. Preseason games are no different than padded joint practices. Stuff happens.

Reading this thread injuries only happen in preseason games.

Jests just lost Zach Wilson, maybe for the season, in a meaningless encounter with the Eagles. Now the Jimmy G. talk should shift to the Jests for a while depending on the severity of the injury anyway to Wilson. I hold my breath everyday that the Fins shouldn't come across the bottom of my TV screen on ESPN or NFL Network having one of those catastrophic injuries occuring during practice or scrimmage with another team. These meaningless Pre-Season games be damned!!! Get rid of them or play the backups only or the on-the bubble guys......Do like the Rams do and play nobody of importance!!!
The Jets couldn’t afford Jimmy G, even if they wanted him unless the 49ers cut Jimmy G and he agrees to play for the Jets for a small contract. Presently the Jets have just a little over $3 million in cap space in 2022. While Jimmy G has a contract paying him over $26 million this coming season.

As long as his salary remains at $26 million in 2022, it is going to be very difficult for any team to trade for him.

our OL needs game time together....how are they supposed to get better if they don’t play actual games??.....the fact is any player can get hurt in practice so not playing your starters only helps so far......not saying all the starters need to play tonight but they need to play at some point.......the first month of the schedule is brutal and they need to be ready for it, specially the OL.......they need to play at least some in the pre season games.

Jets are better off without Wilson; he’s a POS. The sooner they figure that out and move on the better for them. I actually think they’d be decent, maybe better than the Patriots, with Jimmy G.

About 75% of the r/nyjets fanbase was rooting for a torn ACL, tanked season, and CJ Stroud. Lol

I was watching the game and saw the injury, i am relieved the kid didn't tear his ACL. Just not something I like to see happen to anyone regardless of the team.

I also want the Jets as far from CJ Stroud as possible. Last thing this Ohio State fan wants is to see Stroud and Garrett Wilson in our division for a decade plus.

I don't think the Jets roster is that bad to compete for the No.1 pick anyway. I'd bet money they are picking 5-8, over picking 1-4.

Although, Robert Saleh doesn't look like a leader to me. He cowered like a little baby when Vince Sirianni Tee'd off on him following an EGREGIOUS late hit by a Jets LB on Jalen Hurts. Saleh didn't even admonish his player for such a blatant dirty play.

Saleh lost his manhood in that moment. Don't know exactly what it was but he looked like the opposite of a leader of his team and instead of a Beeeeotch as the Eagles coach ripped him from the opposing sideline.

I was pretty pissed off when I saw that hit. You just don't do that to starting QB's in the NFL, let alone third stringers or anyone else for that matter.

Link to the video. That other bald Jets coach throwing his hands up in celebration.....:DWN:

I say play em for a couple games. The practice in a live setting is worth the relatively small risk of injury.

I did a little digging and it appears the injury rate is about 1 in 25 (4%) for a player getting injured during any single game. split that in half to 1/50 since they won't play 2nd half usually. then many injuries are not serious, let's say half (wild guess), we are down to 1/100.

Let them practice as a unit in live reps.
