dont drink the matt moore kool aid

Several teams were high on Moore after his breakout season. Then he laid an egg the next year. Also had a decimated supporting cast around him. Without making any excuses for the guy, bc I'm not his mother or his agent, I think it's fair to say that some people turn it around when given a second chance. Not saying Matt Moore will end up being the savior for the Dolphins, but also not saying he isn't better than Chad Henne.

31 other teams that didn't want Matt Moore... Lol which one of those 31 teams do you think want Chad Henne? I guess I just don't understand your passionate disapproval of Moore, or your need to knock down anyone who sees the possibility of an upgrade in the kid

How do you know 31 other team's didn't want Moore? The guy signed with us as a free agent, and nowhere did I read that he signed with us just because not a single other team wanted him. I know you're supporting Moore, but you make it sound like the guy would have been on the street when I'm certain that several teams would have been interested in taking a flier on a guy who had a 7-6 record on what was a pretty terrible team.

Teams didn't go after him and offered him $$$ with multiple years. That's pretty obvious.

There's always a highest bidder. That still doesn't mean he was unwanted. Besides, Miami was/is a perfect place for him to be, considering the situation with Henne yet the overall team talent we have.

The only comparable team was Seattle, and they went with Tavaris Jackson in a move that's probably not going to pay off.

The highest bidder was Miami with 2 years, $5 million. That's not a lot of bucks for a legit QB.

I don't think Moore is far behind Henne. Chad has earned the right to be challenged and potentially replaced in the starting lineup, so Moore deserves our support every bit as much as any other player on the team, maybe more.

Nobody could be unequivocal about who deserves to start at this point, but the fact is both QBs have had streaks of very respectable play and of very mediocre play. No doubt the best of either player would be an upgrade over the mediocre of the other guy.

Ultimately Moore might prove to be the better guy to start, because he comes with less baggage, but it all comes down to quality of play. So far, in practice and the first game, there doesn't seem to be much between them.

I'm not saying that team's wanted to offer Moore starter money. He's a low cost, high-reward potential type deal.

I'm not drinking the kool-aid but I am taking a glass out of the cabinet.

Next week I might be putting ice in that glass

And the week after I might be ready for a sip!

People keep saying that Henne's TD was against backups, but so was Moore's. Both were blown coverages and I guarantee you that even Pat White could've made the read.

Henne was just terrible. Moore may have been going against backups, but he still made some great throws and seemed to have an awareness that Henne never has.

Aint geting on the Moore bandwagon just yet.

Moore in 2009 was 4-1 with 8 TD's to 1 INT.

In 2010 he got a concussion Week 1 and then hurt his shoulder Week 9. Was bitten all year. Not saying he is great or the 2nd coming, but give him some time with the 1st team offense and lets see how he does. It's the preseason, what would it hurt to let him run with the 1st team offense for a quarter!!!

let me throw some reality into all of you. This game was set up like practice except without key guys in key positions playing. Once again, for all the talk about henne, why are we not also bashing the first string defense? I mean, I get the henne int doesnt help but clearly sparano said this was just like another practice in game atmosphere. He wanted to see what the young guys could do.

I dont know about any of you, but I am quite ecstatic about guys like Livas, wilson, and gates. Moore looks good from what I can tell but I will watch the game on tape today to stop tape and clearly see whats real.

Reality is Chad Henne is our starter for one reason. He knows the playbook more than anyone else. Dont you think if bush and marshall were playing henne would not have had such a bad throw on that? They would have doubled up on marshall. Did the throw suck? Yes it did. I also noticed that Hartline completely burned his guy and #18 is getting behind defenders. If you look at what was accomplished by the team tonight instead of individual bad plays, and for a game that was vanilla, I am quite pleased based on expectations. I spent the night over at my neighbors cus I knew this game would not be worth sweatin over.

Henne looks like he is getting the ball out quicker on the hartline TD. Times past, he would wait another second and hop. Moore is stepping up into the pocket nice just a rush comes. From the highlights, it looks like Atlanta was bringing heat. They were also showcasing Julio quite obviously for the homecrowd.

I am not worried about Henne cus the coaches set the mindset to be like practice and Atlanta came out like it was home opener.

I think it comes down to field vision, Henne doesn't have it and you can't teach it. With Chad it's either primary option or check down - that my friends is why Henne will never be much in this league. Were going on year 4 here and I'm tired of the excuses and the Henne apologist. It's the same rerun show every time he takes the field – I’ll give it to him he is very consistent as sad as it may be.

I'm not calling Moore a great QB by any means but I think he has more potential than Henne from what I have seen of both of them.
