According to Omar, Gurode's knees are shot and he's not in good enough shape to play center anymore.
Next to some on this board he is the 'expert.'

Sparano must have seen an ostrich with its head in the sand and said, "Hmmm....That is a great way to cope with problems!"
Okay, so what if he Brings in Ohara and Gurode and things on the line don't improve? Then it will be because "Tony can't stop tinkering with his O-Line and let them Gel"...
You know it's true.
Where was this patience the last 3 years? He didnt have a problem switching out players then, when he thought it would happen overnight.
Now he easily has the worst line of his regime...and he's cool with it, dont wanna rush anything.
Unbelievable.
Extreme Hyperbole alert!
There is no way this line is worse than what we were seeing at the end of last year
... In the REAL games Jake Long will be playing LT, and while Colombo might be starting at RT, I'll bet Tony will have no problem swapping he and Murtha out depending on who's hot that game.
It is indeed worse then last season. Our last preseason game, Bush had what...-.2 yards? Henne was sacked 3 times despite being faster and more decisive on the field. Even if those results look similar to last season, the fact that both players are quicker and less hesistant then the positions were at the end of last year is telling.
Vernon Carey was still at right tackle and his knee was just slightly shot, not completely. John Jerry had not eaten and lazied his way off the team yet, though he was still recovering from ebola/madcow.
And now we are relying on pitcher rules? Who's hot is who starts? So much for his flawless plan of consistency and patience.
Yes, this line is easily the worse its been under Sparano. Right tackle is a gaping wound and right guard isn't much better. I dont think anyone has questioned the left side, as we know Long will return. Its the fact that he cant play every position along the line at the same time that has us worried.
