DONT GIVE RONNIR 22M in garuanteed money

And would you take 19 million dollars guaranteed for it?

of course, but if common sense, (and my agent) is telling me i can get 22 Million, then i'd want 22 million.

But if the team's telling you you can't, because their proven players also have to be paid then you'll have live with "just" getting 19 mill guaranteed until your next deal comes up.

I'm very nervous about guaranteeing 20 million to a RB? anyone else? i'm not saying we shouldn't, but RB is not the position I would prefer to invest guaranteed money into at that rate.. they are injured quite often, after all. i'll hope that after the new CBA is signed, the salary cap is raised fairly high.

**** it, just get it over with, and hopefully we don't get snake-bit. Let's go Ronnie.

thats the thing though, when you are a 1st round pick, and even a top ten pick, you got drafted because that team no doubt needs you. thats where the arrogance and the greed comes from. Because it gives these rookies and there agents leverage. Alex Smith got every penny he wanted because he knows damn well the niners need him. You can make a case for ricky if you want, but we all know we need ronnie brown.

I can't believe you guys are turning on Ronnie already, and for who....Ricky?

Thats funny as hell, first its "screw Ricky, he sold us out" , then its "Sweet we have Ronnie Brown, best GD running back in the draft" now its "Screw Ronnie for holding out, we have....RICKY!!"

What a bunch of carpetbaggers, what do you expect to pay the number 2 overall pick?
Don't bunch us together as "you guys". There are a few bad apples but I think he needs paid and brought into camp. Don't think all Dolphin fans think that way. It is a small minority

Profootball is BUSINESS!!!... GET IT!!!... BUSINESS!!!

Ronnie will get at least 20 mil.... MINIMUN! Id rather pay 20 min for Ronnie than pay Alex Smith what hes getting.

Ronnie is doing exactly what I,, or anyone else who worked their a$$es off their whole life to get the opportunity to provide for your family and his life.
He he suits up and scores touchdowns no-one is going to care about his signing bonus.

Losman7 thought he probably had every dolphin fan cornered with that one. Talk about overzealous.

I know it isn't all of you, but why is it ANY of you... have you not watched every draft for the last 5 years? This happens every year, the first 5 guys get sick contracts, and everyone wonders why... Its just your turn.

OT: Buckeyes are gonna be sick this year, I just hooked up some Texas tickets, O-H

I have never really understood why some people lash out at athletes and professionals simply because they make a lot of money. This is a free market society. The goal is to make as much money as you possibly can. Professional athletes are doing something that less than 1% of the population can do. They sacrafice their bodies in the process, and they bring in millions of dollars for the owners of the team's the play on. Hell yeah they should make a lot of money.

This isn't just with athletes either. This applies to doctors and lawyers as well. I can't tell you how many times I've heard someone say "That doctor/lawyer makes too much money." You can't make too much money!! When I get through an orthopaedic residency, the plans are already in place for me to walk into the largest orthopaedic practice in the mid south. This practice brings in $8 million a year for the hospital on surgery patients alone. If I bring home $800,000-1,000,000 a year from that practice, I believe it is well worth it.

Don't waste your breath, KB. The "supply and demand" argument falls on deaf ears 98% of the time. Sad but true. (I, of course, agree 100%)

The team doesn't need him if it means dismantling the rest of the team and picking top 10 every year just to have him.

How would he dismantle the team and make them pick in the top 10 every year??

Count me in as well. From what I hear (read is more accurate) the agent is merely reviewing A. Smith's contract and doing what any good agent ought to do. The fact that he's not screaming, yelling or acting like a Potson (it could be worse guys) gives me some hope that a deal will get done within the next week or two. He'll miss alot of training camp but picks this high usually miss some time. Just a fact of NFL life now.
