Dr Z picks 5-11 For Fins

I think we will win at least 6 games, with chances to win maybe 2-3 more. Of course we could win 10 games, but that would not be realistic as you can't predict Cinderella seasons, you can only hope for them.

isn't this the same guy who said ricky would never show up at camp, after ricky said he was playing again? :shakeno:

I dont think he's that far off. How much more can you really expect from us. I think 8-7 would be great, but im thinking more like 6-9 or 7-8....but 5-11 is realistic unfortunately.

I think he's off by one.

5-11 is more realistic than any of your other suggestions seeing as how it adds up to 16 games while the rest of them add up to 15.

THIS Doctor Z is predicting a 7-9 season. I'd like to see more wins in our future, but until we see some consistent QB play, it would be overreaching.

on the subject of SI.com writers does anyone know what happened to duane cross? he seems to have vanished since picking dolphins over vikings for last years superbowl

the win loss numbers MUST add up to 16, the total # of games. it is very difficult to evaluate your predictions when you fail to do that 3 different times. We can go 10 & 6 if the interception/touchdown play has been removed from the playbook. Considering that we lost 8 games because of that one flaw, we could have been 12 & 4 last year. Bottom line, we have reason to be hopeful towards the future and we will compete harder, smarter, and with more intense leadership than in the recent past. Now all we need is a QB.

All I'm saying is that whether he chooses to predict that we'll be 5-11 or 11-5, he should show some reasoning behind it. he didn't show any reasons why would would be whatever..... for example, the dolphins are going to be 5-11 because....blah blah blah. Not once did he say anything to that nature.

Would you *really* be complaining if he predicted 11-5 without explanation?

Really now.

It's clear that this piece wasn't supposed to be about an in-depth analysis of the Dolphins.

Guys, national columnists typically go off of last year. If they ever go out on a limb it is typically for a team that just missed the playoffs the year before. I have never seen a national columnist accurately predict a SD (last year) type turn around. Thus, what do you expect when we went 4-12 last year. They all go with the "safe" picks and maybe ONE longshot. MAYBE.

Yes we (dolphans) all think we are improved from last year. Most of think more than a one game improvement. However, in all reality... learning new offensive and defensive systems may take time. Not to mention our Oline still needs to improve. I personally think 7-9 or maybe 8-8, but would not be too shocked to see a 6-10 season. I would LOVE to see a 10+ win season, but a LOT needs to go right for that to happen.

Actually, he has gone over to the CNN-run NASCAR.com. I knew that name was familiar to me when he started over there.
