Since I see no way Ricky gets close to 1500 yards this year Miami should have their first round pick in this up coming draft. I would assume we would use this on a QB since this draft is supposed to be the deepest in years. Does anyone have any clue as to who Miami might be looking at?

Being from Iowa I think Brad Banks would be a great get, but not sure about what round he would be taken in.

Its just a matter of time until Ricky gets mad. He gets paid on how many yards he gets, basically Ray is taking away his money. If he doenst get 1500 he will probably kill someone :(

Imho I don't think Miami drafts a QB they traded to get Sage I think he's your backup next year and they go after OL in the draft. They will proably bring in a couple FA to compete for the #3 job

I honestly dont think Ricky is all about the money.. He isnt Edgerrin James..

I think he is more concerned about winning.. He will understand if the the coachins staff takes away acouple of carries toward the end in order to maintain the 1st pick if our playoff hopes fade away...

I've read that this year iss...

...going to be the best QB draft since Marino was drafted. It would be rude not to if we get a round 1 pick, as seems possible right now.

Harrington and Carr are showing that a rookie QB can produce in the NFL, and if he's a backup for Jay then he gets some level of protection. More effort in the FA market needs to be made (to close deals like the Olin Kreutz deal) to shore up the OL, if it can't be done through lower round drafting.

IMHO get the franchise QB if he's there when we pick.

I think Wannspiel will pull the trigger on a Franchise QB if available..

There are at least 6-8 first round potential QB's

Leftwich
Manning (They say he is coming out for the draft from what I hear)
Ragone
Palmer
Grossman
Simms
Dorsey
Roethslinger (sp?) (Not sure if he will come out this year)

Now what teams will probably go for QB in first round?
Cincinatti- Will go with Leftwich or Manning
Seattle
Chicago
Carolina

Anyone else? I think Miami has a REALLY GOOD chance to get a franchise QB this year that will be able to mature and take over in 2 years after Fiedler leaves...

I think Dolphins wil draft a Qb but not in the First round..First round will likely be offensive lineman or maybe a wide out? One of their top rated WR still avialable.Brad Banks will be my choice to draft and he could be avauilable in the third round but his stock just keep getting higher...

Franchise QB

I like Sage and think that he will be a good back-up QB, but I really think Miami needs to draft a "Franchise" QB if one is available. I really think this year shows how important a good QB is towards reaching the playoffs. There are just too many good QB's in this draft to not look at them and try and get one thru FA.

Jay is a good QB, and this year he was proving that he could lead this team to the SuperBowl which was something I doubted before this season. It doesn't appear that the QB's in next years draft will be anything to get excited about so we need to address it this year and I think a lot of them will be gone after the first round.

I heard on ESPN radio that some Bears personal are ready to get the season over with and are looking at Leftwich, while Bengals are trying to find someone that will play for them. I thought I read where Grossman is coming back next year to finish his Senior year! This was right after Leftwich made the comment that he prayed he would get drafted by Cinn., the next day I heard Grossman was thinking of staying. This team isn't far and I hope we can get a young QB that can step in make the plays needed to win games instead of loose them.

With Lucas at the helm it is almost to painful to watch Miami since the offense looks as if they don't want to be there as much I hate watching them turn it over time and time again. Just trying to find something good to come out of this year and the 1st round draft pick is a definate plus.

No way Dorsey is 1st round material. Dorsey is 5th round material. He had a good college career while being surrounded by great players, but he won't make it in the NFL. He reminds me of Josh Heupel. If we take a QB, which I don't see us doing, it will be (I hope) Dave Ragone.

10-24-02 Grossman reportedly came thisclose to bolting after last season, when Steve Spurrier dashed off to the NFL's Washington Redskins. But after talking with new Gators coach Ron Zook about the offense he was planning to install, Grossman acquiesced and opted to hang in Gainesville. Now, 14 interceptions, a 5-3 record and 100 hits later, Grossman has to be second-guessing his decision to return after finishing as the Heisman runner-up last year. Needless to say, don't expect Rexy back for his senior season.

10-21-02 Florida QB Rex Grossman was being viewed as another Steve Spurrier creation after struggling most of the year in the Gators’ new offense but played like a Heisman candidate against Auburn. Grossman showed he is a really tough, gutty kid who can move around pretty well to buy some time, play hurt and throw with zip and touch. Still, some scouts feel if Grossman were to come out after this season, he could fall to the second day of the draft.

I don't think Grossman will stay for his senior year.

Just say no to drafting a QB just for the sake of drafting a QB. We already "drafted" a possible future in Rosenfels. We sooooooooooo desperately need OL help, now and for the future. EVERY aspect of our team in it's current system, including the QB's, get infinitately better with studs on the OL. (In fact, I mostly blame this quagmire that we are in on the OL lack of play) Without them, and really we don't have anyone on the line that can be classified as a stud, no fresh from college kid is gonna take over and play better than Jay/Sage/ Fill in the veteran blank. There are QB's in every draft, not just this one. We can wait on a QB, we have to have OL help now.
