Drew Rosenhaus: McCoy will be hired as dolphins head coach

Let's get it right. They had to run this year. Before this year he had a top half passing attack. So we can't say we know his preferences. Any good coaches uses both, his preferences and what his personnel dictates that he can do. League's best running game isn't a bad thing. He made what he could out of the lemons they had. You have no clue how McCoy might do yet...or Philbin for that matter.

McDaniels had a good passing attack. This guy is a loser.

I try not to look at who other teams are hiring because if you look at the way head coaches have been turning over since 2009, it's absolutely insane that like 9 out of 11 first time head coaches hired since 2008 have already been fired. I think that was the number, saw it on another forum the other day.

Even more to my point. With so many franchises having an opportunity to hire Zimmer, Billick, and Marty over the past couple years, if they are so great why didn't other franchises hire them? If it were 1 or 2 teams, ok - but every year there has been so many openings and yet they have not been hired. Billick is a Super Bowl winning coach who I believe has a better winning percentage then Gruden, yet his name is NEVER mentioned in an opening. After a while you at least have to ask why?

how old are you?

do you remember jimmy johnson? did he win many playoff games?

what makes phiblin qualified other than what you THINK and SPECULATE he could poach from the packers - which may or may not happen or turn out to be assets for the dolphins.

you are saying mccoy sucks based on nothing, and saying philbin is a superior option based on the team he comes from not him. clearly, you are not making many valid arguments here.

Yes, he won many playoff games.

How many? 9... That's 7 in Dallas and 2 in Miami. Incidentally, he won twice as many playoff games here as we've won since he left.

Anymore stupid questions?

Ill stand by whatever they decide

do you have a choice?

i mean, thats real sweet and all but, they dont give a rats rear end what you or i think.

just buy your ticket, your hat, your jersey and some $14.00 nachos and we'll take care of everything, thats the attitude of nfl franchises and expecially the jeff ireland miami dolphins!

in this world, todays world, the only color that matters or is even a thought is GREEN, as in CASH MONEY! black, white, brown, yellow, all a bunch of nonsense that means NOTHING in the grand scheme any more unless your jesse jackson, the obamas, aclu, michael moore, snoop doggy dog and all the other nut jobs still spewing the hatred. ITS MONEY!! GREEN!!

not race, not justice, not liberty but COLD, HARD, GREEN, CASH!!!!

AND i have lived my adult life knowing and betting on the one sure thing this world revolves around, and i thought after seeing the last couple of years of DISMAL stadium attendance, expecially this past season that guzillionaire steven ross would listen to the fans, tune in to the empty seats and make damn sure his cash flow came up this season. and getting a coach who brings hope and or excitement was the key, he has alluded to it since canning tony.

you had to believe, as i thought, because all the we love the fans, its for YOU, we owe this community is all air. its all about money, and thats fine, because you can always count on that motivation over ANYTHING else. well, hold the phone folks!!!!!

only in miami can we get an billionaire owner who puts his faith in a FAILED boy wonder gm over his true love, and sure thing, MONEY, [aka fans and their wallets].

look at last year. tony gets an extension. worst move he could make. doomed. but, we find out that our offensive coordinator is going to be the sacrificial lamb and we WILL be getting a coach in here to create points and exitiment! cool!! theres SOME hope! and we hire the WORST of all the candidates brought in or available. a guy whos offense was WORSE than the guy he replaced.

now we do the same thing with the new coach. hey, i am sure the guys who passed us up were told by many sources that this is a bad job in a division with a dynasty franchise and all universe coach and qb and to pass. fine. and most of those are the big name coaches like fisher and gruden and cowher, etc... but we didnt NEED that. most of us would be exited about a hot coordinator or assistant from a WINNING franchise that scored points and was ready for his shot. we even had one, philbin!!

but again, we go for the guy who seems to bring the least, well, outside of bowles, but i am hoping keeping him in the loop is just a show to keep certain burs from appearing under certain saddles. we pick the most boring of the bunch!! AGAIN!!!

hey, maybe he is a legend in the making. doubt it, but it could be. poppi montgomery could fall out of an airplane naked and land on my face. COULD happen, but...........

all in all, this just isnt going to sell any more tickets or sky box or jerseys. how could it? like i said, right when you think you can trust the most certain thing in this world, money, the miami dolphins brass shoots it all to hell.

i dunno. maybe elvis is still alive on an island with jim morrison. nothing will suprise me anymore after this.

Wow, that is friggin hilarious. Literally made me laugh out loud!!!

Have you considered the person in your sig is also?

No actually I haven't, but if you like your presidents like you like your Miami Dolphins head coaches, mediocre and clueless, that's your choice. Just don't come crying to me when the country and the Miami Dolphins remain in the same pathetic situation they have been in.

Bad, irresponsible journalism. That is NOT what he said. He said:

"I think at this point I would be surprised if he's not the next head coach of the Dolphins."

That is NOT the same as:

"Super agent Drew Rosenhaus tells WQAM's Joe Rose that Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy will be hired by the Miami Dolphins as their next head coach."

Embarrassing journalism.

OL first pick.

McCoy probably convinced Ireland that Moore is good enough...Any sane fan knows that's not true but Ireland is an idiot.
With the rumors that Ireland is for McCoy, part of that might be that McCoy sold him on his ability to work with Moore. I'm sure Ireland would love not to have the pressure of taking a chance on a late round QB or moving up. If McCoy manages to make the most of Moore, than Ireland gets to take credit for picking him up and avoids having to place his career on a rookie QB whose success or failure would end up defining his tenure as a GM.
