Dungy on Ross' conduct committee?

This is Ross' finest move, he may actually have some sense after all. What way to get the Dolphin fans excited by bringing back beloved Dolphin legends into your new committee which has outnumbered the non-dolphins. The non dolphins are very well respected and well known The media loves Dungy and Sungy is a guy who mentors alot of young players and coaches. Adding Dungy is brilliant. It really is brilliant! A Super Bowl winning coach who is still involved with the game and add to it a HOFer in running back Curtis Martin. He played for the Pats and Jest, he knows the AFC East through and through. He was never the most talented guy, but a hard worker who always put his teams on his back. He was an excellent running back a 3rd round pick from Pittsburgh who just may pique Marino's interest being they both were former Panthers. It's an intriguing collection of insiders and outsiders and the media loves all of them. They have more football savy and intellect than the collection of jackasses we've had around here last 15 years!

Also, seeing this committee if you were a guy who was looking to becoming a head coach or GM for some team next year wouldn't you love, I mean absolutely love the idea of this committee and having their support!! They may be selecting the future, again this was absolutely brilliant! This is like trading a first round pick in the 1995 NBA draft to the New York Knickerbockers for one Pat Riley. It has that type of impact. It took Riles a few years but dam was that a brilliant move.

Or how about trading an NFL first round pick to the Baltimore Colts for a young up and coming wild dude named Don Shula? Shute seemed to be a brilliant move way back then! Interesting that happened in 1969? Or 1970, I'm not %100 but it happened, then we added Riley, now the Fins look like they are making another brilliant move, I say **** yeah, bout dam time! Go Fins!

This is just another reason why ross has no business owning an nfl team. Dungy had to be for an outside perspective, but this whole thing is retarted anyway.

A broad section of football fans and journalists hold Tony Dungy up on a pedestal with the utmost respect. That was a brilliant choice.

Curtis Martin is a Hall of Fame player who is also widely acknowledged for having tremendous character, he lives in South Florida, and he is an 'outside' perspective for the organization. He's also a guy who grew up in poverty and maybe brings more of a 'street' perspective to that group. I actually think he was a good selection.
In as much as it's "everyone else" that we're worried about.......Yes...But, watch out. Backlash comes.

I don't need a guy that can't be sensitive to LGTB issues on our leadership whateveritis
We are not electing a new Pope at the Vatican, Cardinal GoonBoss of Goatville. BTW - Is your hero, John Wayne available or did he flame out playing Bill Parcells in his last gig?

Florios coworker gets associated with Miami and thus Florio writes a positive Miami article. It's like clockwork.

If there is a guy in leadership, I just think he should be sensitive to all of our players issues.

This is a good move and it gives the appearance that the Phins are trying to solve the problem themselves. If nothing else the NFL will take the move into consideration when evaluating the Dolphins during their investigation. Ross is a smart man...he may not have the football savvy of some owners, but he will do whatever he can to protect his reputation and by extension, the Dolphins.

I don't have a problem with it except listening to Dungy post-coaching career you know what he is going to sat about every "key" player even before the game is played. So, its pretty obvious what his conclusions will be and what aspect of the whole incident he will be polarized about.

Looking at it by the numbers its in a decent place statistically though. For example:

Dilphins 3:2 Non-Dolphins
Players 3:2 Coaches
Non-Announcers 3:2 Announcers (not counting Taylor)

That all seems reasonable.

It's all PR.

At the end of the day, the "Miami" committed will say they found some minor things but nothing crazy.

Only review that matters at this point is the NFL legal committed.

How many of us have witnessed corporate owners pay for someone else's opinion for show? Then when the parade is over it's back to business as usual?

Quite frankly, I would rather the panel all say "no thanks". Why? Because we are at a very critical stage in this organization's history. We have run so many "great names" out of town. We've discarded so many careers and disrespected so many people, there is a VERY VERY small group of people that would even help us. And frankly, the names on that list I don't EVER want to erase off of it.

A token group of talented minds is a mockery. I don't want this road paved. I don't want the fans and media to completely buy into the notion these people are actually going to provide insight and leadership to Ross and that we can all go to sleep at night.

Most of us have lived in the modern age long enough to know a token attempt when we see it. It's always the same story. Lots of names, faces and attention grabbing headlines. Then months later, never heard from again.

As long as Carl Peterson is involved, Ross will assemble this council/committee/what-have-you and let the pomp and circumstance play out. Staking their reputations and good names to help Ross. But in the background, Carl Peterson whispering into Ross' ear telling him what to do. Then the fans blame the committee or anyone not named Peterson or any other person with influence that stands in the shadows.

Ruining yet another viable group of resources that will not help us when the right owner comes along with the right intentions.

This is yet another sham being fed to the fans. It will sound great for a few months while the league is involved. As soon as the attention and pressure leaves the building, business as usual. And we will have lost respect from some of the very few people on the planet that honestly care what happens to this once great organization.

I hold Tony Dungy and anyone on that panel in too high regard to see them become thrown under the bus and never want to deal with us again. I'd rather they say 'no' now and wait for the real storm called "Ross" to pass through town.

We don't have a leader as an owner. The further away he distances himself or the closer he embraces these problems, I see nothing but more of the same.

All problems start at the top. The very top. And I don't expect a dog as old as Ross to learn new tricks.

If by any chance Mr.Ross fires both Ireland and Philbin, I hope he hires Dungy. Give him a nice fat contract and full control then maybe, just maybe we will have success. But knowing us (fans) when he starts losing we will say it was a bad hire, etc. I like Dungy alot.
