Dustin Keller

No way Keller a good to go or else you would see teams working him out. Is Finley the best currently available?

Keller is a vintage post Week One pick up.

Keller was injury prone before he came here. Nothing has changed. Except that now he probably wouldn't be an automatic first team choice, and he's not the type of TE the Coordinator likes.

Which means the only way he chooses to come back to Miami is if he has no other options. If he is healthy, at least 1 other team rolls the dice on him.

I just can't see a scenario where the free agent Keller chooses to come back to Miami.

Well I can think of a good one. I seem to recall he was paid like $5M last year and never got to represent the Miami Dolphins in an actual NFL game that counted. The injury sustained was terrible and may have finished his career. However, part of his rehab is mental as well as physical. I would expect that he would like to be able to show the good Dolphins fans what he can do on the field in aqua and white, in an actual game.
Another way of looking at this is simply putting the past behind and walking away. The Houston Texans defender, DJ Swearinger, smashed Keller's knee in the practice game. It was a dirty play by the rookie and appeared deliberate. I am still filled with sadness about the incident in a silly practice game. If Keller never comes back (most likely scenario) I will remember him for the rest of my life as the talented former Jets TE who never got to be the weapon that Dolphins expected - unfulfilled promise. He never got a chance.

Would love to bring in Keller or Finley to play behind Clay and Sims. This is a tightend friendly offense; another starting caliber tight end would help amp up this offense.

Would love to bring in Keller and/or Finley in to be our TE, but the problem is that their injuries are so bad, nobody is willing to pony up the $ on that big of a risk when they can get younger cheaper guys they'd rather roll the dice on. If healthy and able to contribute, then sure. But seen us too often bring in a name that flames out and costs us $$ and a roster spot that could have been used elsewhere. I'll defer to those that have the medical expertise and have seen what these guys look like.
