Eagles Fans Going Nuts over LG Pick Up

well, we aren't cutting ricky williams or ronnie brown, that was pretty obvious. Now the eagles tried for morris first, and we showed them we weren't getting rid of him. So the eagles then probably saw that we had only one roster spot left at HB. Gordon or minor? and im guessing based of preseason the eagles knew who we were keeping, and obviously who we were cutting.

I'm just looking at the next two years and I think we really need to load up on draft picks. We did well in the later rounds this year so even if we load up on late picks I think that would be benficial for us. Even if they wanted Morris I wouldve gone for a trade. With Williams, Brown, and Minor we really could have afforded the trade. Next year we need at least two offensive linemen, one or two QBs, Speed receiver, possible TE (if McMichael goes), DT, DE, CB,S.

That's alot of positions to fill and more than likely a two year project but if we started making trades for draft picks maybe we could speed up the process a little

After seeing what Ricky did after his long layoff.... I say... Good for Lamar.. perhaps good for the Eagles... We're in good shape here.

All the best Lamar!

First off, don't go to the message board on the official Eagles site for a true feel of fans. Mostly kids over there. I would recommend a better site for actual insight, but this board won't let me.

I think the Gordon pickup is nice for Philly. Adds a little depth to an otherwise thin RB corps. Westbrook cannot handle more than 15-20 touches per game troughout a season, and then after that you are looking at a rookie (Moats) who is even smaller. So if there is enthusiasm, I think it is more at adding an NFL-caliber RB. Because honestly, the previous #3 and #4 RBs on the chart were practice squad fodder. The signings of Gordon and McCants (WR from the Skins) adds some nice young talent at depth positions on the roster.

he's got the speed to make plays with a good line. all that dancing around wont matter because he will have the time to find a spot where he wants to run to. He is a better fit for that team IMO

the eagles simply have one of the (most underrated as well) best offensive lines in the business. Gordon will make plays. Anyone could.

Agreed I think Ricky would have 150 yards a game with a line like that and a qb like that.

He NEVER hit the hole! He stuttered in the backfield for way too long. He may be big but he is not and never will be a tough back.

Ryan Moats will overtake him.

What hole??? We could never provide him one. He is a good back and will do well in Philly no question.

yeah but it seemed Sammy Morris hit holes better than he did because Sammy doesnt dance around.

The fact that the Eagles got him means that he was passed over on the waiver wire by everyone but the Patriots. That says something already.

The blocking got better as the season progressed. Long after Gordon was injured & gone.

It just seemed like Sammy hit the whole better more explosive. Maybe its just me i didnt like Gordon that much in the first place.

Guess they havent seem him run. He dances to much.

Agree he waits too long to hit and hole and for a big guy, doesn't like contact. He might be ok there though, with their big O line.

They all danced around, Morris included until the OL started to function some what properly, even Ricky's 03 season he danced around looking for holes.

Lets also take into account that Gordon was only with the Fins a few weeks before getting injured in the steelers game. He didn't have the offense down yet. So yes he was hesitant when running the ball.

What the Eagle fans are not considering is what Speilman didnt consider. And that is that Gordon is injury prone and will probably spend a lot of time on IR.

Eagle's fans will have a good hate on for Gordon the first time he wiff's on a blitzer and McNabb gets punched in the mouth becasue of it...the guy could not pick up a blitz to save his life.
