19.5 mil looks pretty good now....

Yea..But he's entitled to 21 mil. Not by my opinion, but by that #2 overall PICK. That's what it goes for. They have to pay him.

Hes entitled to what the front office pays him. Hopefully thats 19.5 in signing bonus.

however no 2nd overall pick has gotten 21 mil, how did you get 21 mil?

And you also have to "pro-rate" Smith's guaranteed money since he's a QB and QB's traditionally get more money that RBs. So, Smith got $24M, but when pro-rated to a RB-type money, it's more like $21-$22M, and then Edwards got $18M. So, the midpoint is more like $19.5M, maybe $20M.

"However, the incentives and contract escalators still are lagging in the deal, a source said." From the font page on the Ronnie Brown deal....

That is what we need to worry about now.

Yup and I'm betting the incentives and escalators right now are no better then Braylon's.

I won't be suprise if I wake up tomarrow morning and they're talking about Ronnie signing on the Joe Rose......OHHHH IN A PERFECT WORLD.....

Yea, I think it goes down for 20mil.

Wow. Maybe im wrong but thats a good figure for... us. Glad he didnt get 20 or 21 mill like i thought he would!
Wow, me too....looks like I was wrong about that....I thought for sure Braylon would sign for more than Fitzgreald last year but, he signed for almost the same thing if not less....this is real good for us.....that 19.5 million looks pretty darn appropriate right now....

I don't know. 18.5 for #3 and what 24 for #1? Looks like Miami is going to have to up the ante into the 20-21 million ranges to get Brown into camp.

No they don't. Everyone knows that the 49'ers overpaid. Plus, Smith is a QB (they always command more money).

There's no more excuses now. Brown's contract is going to be between Smith's and Edwards. It shouldn't take long to figure out what it should be.

Same here. I heard that the Browns were going to give him a huge offer and it had me scared. I feel much better about signing Ronnie now.

I see Brown now getting a $20 million signing bonus. I doubt he takes the $19.5 we are offering, and I think Miami will just try and end all of this and up the ante another $500,000. I see deal being struck in the next 48 hours.
