Egnew being waived -- Per Schefter

If they don't bite as pups....

Fact is we all knew the summer of his rookie year that it would take a miracle for him to turn it around. Then he bulked up and lost any wiggle he ever had. He was a late round talent that we overdrafted and took in the 3rd. It's nauseating that he was part of the return for Brandon Marshall.

No excuses. This isn't about him finding a scheme fit or developing confidence or whatever. He sucks, plain and simple.

What this fan base has had to endure in terms of GMs is plainly unfair. At just the TE position alone, yeah, let's take John Jerry over homegrown Jimmy Graham. Then compound it by trading away an elite talent in Brandon Marshall for Mike Egnew.

Message to ME from BB - Waterboarding with ice water (part of the ALSA challenge) starts at Foxboro at 7.00am Monday. Catch a flight up the night before and have an enema before you arrive. This is a fabulous opportunity to contribute to an elite unprincipled franchise by telling all you know. A comprehensive breakdown of the Dolphin playbook will be expected together with knowledge of the strengths and weaknesses of all players on the Dolphin roster. Catching and blocking skills may be tested after the comprehensive medical. A complimentary basket of Kraft products and an old gray hoodie will be in your hotel room. Gronk will supply the locker room entertainment. Welcome to New England.

Lmfao!!!!

I live in Chicago. I was in my gym locker room the night we traded Marshall to the Bears. There were a half dozen Bears fans talking about Marshall and ridiculing the Dolphins for allowing the Bears to be able to get him so cheaply. There is really no defense for me in that situation. My franchise embarrassed me. Marshall certainly hasn't disappointed the Bears while we cut Egnew.

I will be surprised if Bellicheat wants Egnew. BB doesn't ordinarily go for sub intelligent guys with no toughness and that can't play.

Like Egnew knows the playbook John. i got the impression he was dumb as a rock. i hope the Jets pick him up

We kept bringing in tight ends, even when seemingly we didn't need any more. I wondered what was going on. I should have guessed it had to do with Egnew, that they basically had written him off and any other healthy competent body would win the comparison.

That Big 12 pass defense was so limp and pathetic for so many years it made lots of guys involved in the passing game look far better than they actually were.

Did Jeff Ireland ever actually sit across from Michael Egnew and have a meaningful conversation? That's what I've always wondered regarding that pick. How could you look into those eyes and decide that's who you want the franchise to bank on? The tape will fool you all the time if you're that limited and dunce. As I've emphasized many times, the Dolphins of my youth would bring in guys who stood out as solid driven characters. Jake Scott was dominating the practice field and the nightly interviews within his first week in camp. Many more examples. Then several years later Bobby Beathard briefly deviated from the method and got burned by lowlifes like Carlton, Reese and Crowder. Nowadays we draft and sign too many dopes. Even Dion Jordan offers plenty of that. I hope Hickey has already made it a priority to weed them out, and that Egnew was an early target.

I think this shows that he has and wouldn't be surprised to see Thomas go next. Wheeler would have been replaced if they could have signed Jackson IMO but he choose the Colts. If the salary cap wasn't such a big hit he probably would be gone, but next year can't see him on the roster.

Probably Thiggy as well. Out with the old and in with the new.

the Turk is gonna be a busy boy in the next 2 weeks

We gave up two 2nds for Marshall to play for Sporano and before Philbin even let Marshall hit the field he was traded off to Chicago for 2 thirds. That sounds like the coach making the decision more than the GM plus we traded off Vonte Davis to Indy for a 2nd that year . I am not a Marshall fan and was not when we brought him on board and he helped kicked Sporano out of Miami for making Marshall a Dolphin. Marshall is a good NFL player but it takes the right coach to harness the guy and Philbin at least recognized he was not up to challenge.
