Egnew being waived -- Per Schefter

A five star recruit is rated for his ability to impact the college game. The profile of a highly successful college player and that of an NFL player are two different things. QB's and RB's especially are going to have a lot of success in college while not having the skills to be more than a fringe player or complimentary player in the NFL.

Former Dolphins third-round pick TE Michael Egnew passed through waivers unclaimed on Saturday, according to the NFL transaction release.
Egnew, 24, is now a free agent able to sign on with a team of his choosing. We’ll have to see if anyone shows interest in giving him another opportunity.
Last year, Egnew appeared in 15 games for Miami and caught seven passes for 69 yards and no touchdowns.

Um, I'm just here because I don't want this thread to die. Keep talking about Egnew

B-b-b-b-but I thought he was going to the Patriots?

Its amazing how many things we talk about on this board are somehow based on the Patriots.
Im still waiting for BB to sign Ronnie Brown since board members say he is in love with him.
Almost as laughable as worrying that the Pats would take Vernon Carey with Wilfork on board

With Egnew gone we are losing our institutional memory of how much Jeff Ireland failed as a GM. At this point there is one fewer disastrous Jeff Ireland pick on the team. Dion Jordan better stick with the squad to keep the memories alive.

I hated the amount of early busts that Ireland had as a GM but many Gm's have missed as much.
My issue was him is as a whole talent evaluator.

Holy chocolate chip cookies, eggnog finally got released.... Took the dolphins long enough.

Ireland always reminded me of those guys we all know that believe they're always right and know everything when in reality they don't know wtf they're talking about... Ireland era was a failure in sooo many ways...I ll never forget the day when I spit out my beer when we drafted pat white. I knew after that pick Ireland was freaking clueless....

For all the Egnew Homers out there? Remember the Michael Egnew is the GOAT Dude. And all the others that said this Dude was a Stud.

Said for years now, see for your self, I'll say it one last time

MICHAEL EGNEW ALWAYS SUCKED! And for the Daniel Thomas supporters, he's next. If anyone watched the Game last night and could not tell by his 3rd run, Moreno is a real running back, Dana Thomas is a 2nd Round BUST. See ya Dude

I want to get the last word in this horrific thread

WHY DRAFT EGNEW ? Sherman and Philbin and Jeff?

Claimed by Lions.

He basically has no chance to make the Lions but who knows maybe he gets a transplant. At best he is their 4th best guy

They just wasted a perfectly good roster spot.

Well he probably wont be on a roster spot in the end. Fauria, Ebron and Pettigrew are all much better than him
