EJ Manuel every throw week 1

I've been telling people for 2 straight days that the Bills have a very good offensive line but they don't seem to believe me.

Jared Allen was getting very frustrated lol

We'll find out more on Sunday. Thanks for posting the vid and for the discussion!

Thanks for the link.

CHI put very little pressure on Manuel, so BUF did not have to give their OL much help pass blocking.

The MIA pass rush is an entirely different critter.

Well the beautiful side of things, is that no matter what the winner will be at worst tie for the division lead, and the loser will be at worst tied with NE. I would rather be a game behind the division leading bills with a home game left against them on the schedule, than to be a game behind the pats having to go up there later in the year.
The game last week was so huge for us. Had we lost that one, this would be nearly a must win. Ya gotta hold serve at home and split on the road. If we go 1-1 in the division winning our home game vs the pats we are not in bad shape, with two much easier games coming up. After the bye maybe we will get some of our players back and can put some wins together. This game is no where near as big as I expected it to be. It's still huge because it is a division game but not a must win like it looked like it might be.

I see one thing that Buffalo did with the passing game that the Pats didn't do, the Pats live off the medium passing plays, 5 to 12 yards. Buffalo seemed perfectly content to nullify Chicago's pass rush by dumping the ball off in the flats or on a screens for 2 or 3 yards at a time with the hope that it breaks for more. Also E.J. has ten times the scramble ability of Tom Brady, which helps to elude the pass rush.

It's going to be an interesting game.

so true about bradys scrambling ability! His little stutter stepping crap when he could have EASILY ran for a first down last week was hilarious. It may have even been near the goal line, I can't remember, but it was bad.

A lot of talk about the Bills running screens. I can only hope that Coyle has the answer for this. I remember Sproles single handedly killing us last year with it.

Lets not get ahead of ourselves here. Last year the bears were ranked 31st in sacks. Both teams O lines will have to play some more ball before we know what they truly are.

First of all, no they weren't.

Secondly, you want to look at ASR (adjusted sack rate). Football Outsiders ASR has the Bills in the top 15 in pass blocking and #1 in run blocking. Total sacks means nothing as it doesn't take into account a variety of factors. Thus the point of ASR.

Thirdly, the Bills were #2 in the league in rushing last season.

You should watch the full game. The I'm not going to post a link because it's of questionable legality and I don't want it to get taken down, but if you check the condensed Dolphins game that was posted here, there is a link on that site to one of Bears/Bills.

I was stunned at how slow and lazy the Bears defense looks. And I don't want to take any credit away from Buffalo -- they played a good game -- but I don't think their performance vs that Bears team will translate to much if Miami's DL comes out and plays the way it did against the Patriots.

In the NFL Podcast by Barnwell and Mays they both thought the Bears defense would be pretty bad this season, and the Bears is Mays team so he's quite a bit more in tune with them than the average fan.

How many games did they win? You throwing all these stats around like they mean anything.

The bears had a grand total of 31 sacks last year. That puts them in a last place tie. You will have a MUCH stiffer test come Sunday.
