ELIte Manning

You just said in an earlier post that you weren't a believer of Eli Manning until this season. I really don't see much of a difference between Eli this year and last year. That's because I don't look at stats. That crap is for fantasy geeks. I watch games and I watch quarterbacks and Eli has been elite for several years now. This year he just made it obvious to the masses.

So the same goes for Brady and Brees. We can sift thru stats all day. But when you watch those two, Tom Brady is the better QB. Does a lot more with a lot less. The surrounding cast in New Orleans is much better than what New England has.

Only position where it's close is at tight end. Gronk and Graham are a push.

I don't see a difference between Manning this year or last, either. I bumped Eli to elite this year because he's played elite now for more than a couple of seasons. Understand? I've never once played fantasy football. Never will. However, I do love how you call them those who do "fantasy geeks" all the while pasting a huge video game title in your sig. hahahahah

Brady does a lot more with a lot less? BWWAHAHAHAHAH!! Brees does more...PERIOD.

Skyrim is the ****. Don't be hating on that.

People play fantasy football and all of a sudden they're smarter football gurus somehow.

You were impressed w/ 25 INts in 2010 and missing the playoffs in '09 & '10?

Eli is a GOOD QB.

I think we need to first define "elite". Elite for you may not be the same as it is for me. I'm not saying that Eli is an all time elite QB. However, in todays game, with today's current QB's...he's elite.

I watch him play every game, he did play to a similar level this year but he caught a ton of breaks and he has outstanding WRs. He made less bad decisions this year too, I hear all the time how the 25 INts weren't his fault but 90% were bad decisions/bad throws. Eli is a good QB, he's not elite. Elite would be guys like Brady and Rodgers but he's not close to those guys.

I'm not sure what game you were watching yesterday, you say you don't look at stats but the only way anyone thinks Eli was great yesterday is by looking at him throwing for 300 yds(which fools most fans but I know that doesn't fool you). Eli was far from great yesterday, he got bailed out by 2 STs TOs(one of which never should have happened by the Giants player ran out of bounds for 30 yds w/o trying to get back in and he's the guy who recovered the muff) and an awful call blowing the whistle too soon on a Bradshaw fumble.

I wasn't hating. I just find it funny. You call one group of fantasy people geeks while you yourself play fantasy games.

Elite in the current NFL would be guys like Eli, Rodgers, Brees- Eli is not on that level. THIS year he was anotch below, through the past 5-6 years he's been at least 2 notches below.

nyjunk is nothing more than a Giants ***** who refuses to give Eli the credit he has deserved for years. It doesn't matter what Eli does or proves, he'll never be anything better than "good" in his eyes.

You don't see me running around claiming I know **** about magic because of it.

Fantasy football needs run around and recite stats at will and believe Mike Vick is a great QB....and think Eli sucks.

Picked against the Giants in every single playoff game this year. Kept waiting on him to throw some dumb interceptions like he has in the past, got lucky with those two collisions of 49'er defenders, but I guess if you take 63 drop backs in a game that's fairly likely to happen.

Picking the Giants to win it all, I can deny him no longer.

So you're saying that Brady and Brees should box or have some sort of MMA match? I don't understand this thinking. I asked CK about this same thing and he refused to answer me. How can Brees beat Brady? The SAINTS would have to beat the PATRIOTS. A QB never plays against another QB....EVER.

I'll never claim that the Saints, over the last decade, have had the better TEAM.

OK it is really simple to be honest and to use a zen "they are never on the field at the same time" approach is foolish, if that argument held true than Defense would win out every time, anytime right?

No, it wouldn't because the quality of play would be directly affected by the offense and what it does on the field, Bress is a great QB no doubt about it and as much as I despise Brady there is no argument that he isn't in the top 5 all time in terms of all time great QB's.

Bress and Brady have started nearly the same amount of games 153 to 159. Their stats are not hugely off base from one another but Tom is clearly the victor.

Passing Yards: 40,742 to 39,979 edge Bress
Completion Percentage: 65.9% to 63.8% edge Brees
Passing TD's: 300 to 281 edge Brady
Yards per attempt: 7.5 to 7.4 edge Brady
Interceptions: 146 to 115 edge Brady
Comeback Wins: 25 to 19 edge Brady
Passer Rating: 96.4 to 94.0 edge Brady
Game winning drives: 34 to 29 edge Brady

and the biggest category of them all Super Bowl Wins 3 to 1 Brady.

Brees is great but Brady has been just that much better.

I do agree that Brady has enjoyed a better defense in terms of ppg 18.3ppg since 2006 compared to 21.8ppg for Bress. Which leads into another of my favorite arguments, Balance wins multiple Super Bowls not offense or defense. You can be great in one area and win it once, maybe twice but you need balance to be a perennial playoff contender because if you get into a shootout like Green Bay did this season with a hot young team or you have a bad game like Brady did in the AFC Championship the rest of the TEAM (notice there is no I) will balance it out.

So head to head edge Brady, overall team balance Brady - it isn't a wonder the man will be playing for his fourth ring in so many years, the Franchise just gets what it takes to run a ball club.

Well don't go against what's working.

I don't want the Patriots winning this lol.

I do hate the Ginats more than any team, I will be rooting for NE in the SB and myabe that clouds my judgement but I think I give him proper credit. he's a good QB, he's not great and to be elite you have to be great. if he was would he have led his team to 9-7 in a weak division w/ all that talent around him?

Have you watched these guys play? Victor Cruz CARRIED the offense the last 2 weeks of the reg season, if he doesn't take a 7 yd pass and go NINETY NINE yds against us the Giants are probably not in the playoffs. Cruz, Nicks, Manningham, Bradshaw- not many teams have weapons like these guys. They may have the best WRs in the league, last week it was Nicks taking a short pass and making multiple GB defenders miss for a 66 yd TD and grabbing a Hail Mary, this week the hero was Cruz- every week it changes b/c these guys are so damn good. Eli did not have a very good game yesterday.
