I figured the signing of Poyer was a sign the Dolphins weren’t going to try and resign Elliott. I imagine Poyer will be in Miami for one year and the Dolphins will draft a new safety with one of their many picks in the 2025 draft.

Not sorry to see him go, honestly. Think he was overrated on here. He was a solid player, but nothing more. There’s a reason he keeps bumping around the league on near-minimum deals.

Some serious safety talent is still on the market. Lots of upgrades available.

The key for me is that it is a very reasonable deal for even a backup safety who can step in, if necessary.
