End of 1st half field goal attempt

I'm not defending the decision, I'm saying people blasting Philbin are overreacting just a bit.

I don't think so. I think he deserves to be blasted. I've defended him for some questionable coaching decisions in the past... I'm not out there looking to blast him. But this one... wow. I'm sorry, but as JCane says, he went full retard.

Actions like (A) The last minute and a half and (B) Not having Ryan use his running ability more when needed (Especially in these conditions). Will continue to make people question the coaching staff. This might not be a must win game but is the closest thing we will have, they need to use all resources. I also think they should put Clay in the backfield and give him the ball some to see what he can do. Miller has zero vision and it's such a waste to give him the ball between the tackles.

Awful. Awful. Awful. Everyone needs to step up in a game like this, with the playoffs still within reach. That includes Philbin. Awful.

Playing not to lose.
More read options and stop running up the middle.

Everybody in the world knew that Sturgis would never make that fg, except that moron philbin.

Btw Ray Horton is owning Tom Brady....again. I love that guy. Leader of men.

Lets be honest....he probably had no idea about that stat. Its such a random stat that you would never hear. Had he known about it, he probably wouldn't have attempted the FG.

No, These are the things that coaches should know. Philbin is just a complete moron.

A bit! Philbin took the out with no possible negative outcome, with the lead in the snow on the road.
I didn't like it, but "worst ever" come on.

It's well known that kickers are absolutely terrible in that end of Heinz Field with the swirling winds. I was aware of it. Joe Philbin has guys researching this stuff for him... or at least he should.
