Scott Pioli is Bill Parcells' son-in-law.
Just say no to tuna.
Reason enough right there, even if Pioli wasn't a whackadoo who struck out his last time at bat.

I thought that Pioli was also the brains behind selecting Tom Brady in the 6th round (#199) of the 2000 Draft. That should still count for something in talent evaluation, but as J David Wannyheimer explains, he still Bill Parcells son in law.
Yes, good fortune, and yes, he transformed his soft skinny body. However, to see the potential and the greatness that he subsequently achieved from a 6th rounder is still pretty incredible. Not only the value he brought, but 14 years of not having to spend draft picks or recruit FA QBs, Brady draft pick goes down as probably the greatest draft pick ever. It probably added several hundreds of millions of dollars to the Kraft family net wealth. No one thought much of Brady coming out of school. The guy completely transformed himself physically that first summer. Look for pics of him at the combine and you'll see a soft skinny kid. With NE he had hit the weights hard and it showed. For Pioli to take credit for Brady is as much good fortune as skill.

For the sake of educating those that are on the "OMG, PIOLI AND THE KC PROBOWLERS, DUDE KNOWS TALENT" train, here are the KC pro-bowlers and who was GM when they were drafted.
Branden Albert - Carl Peterson
Jamal Charles - Carl Peterson
Dontari Poe - Pioli
Tamba Hali - Peterson
Justin Houston - Pioli
Brandon Flowers - Peterson
Eric Berry - Pioli
Dexter McCluster - Pioli
Half the pro bowlers are Peterson draft picks. If we want to compare overall effectiveness for tenure:
Peterson acquired or drafted:
Joe Montana
Marcus Allen
Rich Gannon
Priest Holmes
Larry Johnson
Jared Allen
Dwayne Bowe
Pioli acquired or drafted:
Tony Gonzalez - edit*. This is an error on my part, Pioli did not get Gonzo.
Matt Cassell
Bobby Engram
Chris Chambers
Mike Vrabel
Johnathan Baldwin - their 2011 1st rd pick in case you'd never heard of this cat
Under Peterson they had several very good years including AFC championship runs. Under Pioli they had one winning season with a record of 10-6, and averaged 5-11 the other three years with max 7 wins one year. I'm not sure the performance could really be more disparate. Can we all stop with the "hire Pioli" nonsense?
Why the hell do people think Carl Peterson is the ****ing Devil if he acquired the players you mentioned?
