I'm not a Fiedler homer, but i'm sick of seeing this in every thread - everyone is jumping on that expression bandwagon.

In four years, Fieder took us to a 41-23 record, at no point starting out 0-2 even in his FIRST YEAR. (new to system, always been a backup, etc...) Granted, we had a better O-line, but we lacked some of the other weapons in other areas.

I'm not saying put Fiedler in for the game in Pitt, but i am saying give him his credit. I'm sick of all the bashing on here with you Feeley guys having no argument other than "the guys new - he's a rookie - this is a new system - the o-line won't block for him - etc" . I would like to see Feeley do well, but he's not. He has the stronger arm than Fiedler, but even Fiedler makes better decisions than what Feeley has made thus far.

Instead of listing excuses for Feeley while you're bashing Fiedler, why don't you try NOT bashing the guy who got us a winning record the last four years and try hoping your new guy proves he is better. The quality of his throws doesn't mean jack **** in the record books.

Here's for Feeley proving himself in sunday's game. :cooldude:

BULSHlT!! He had 4 years...he didn't cut it! That is a 100% valid statement.

Go get a job and do just enough work to get by, but never reach the companies goals. Tell me if that boss gives you 4 years!!!

Man, people who don't use logic really drive me crazy

:yeahthat:

are you saying JF is responsible for all those wins? I agree give him some credit but don't give him all the credit.

you say i don't use logic?

what is not logical about the last four years being 41-23 and the last two games being 0-2?

you say i'm not logical. I say i'm realistic.

So your logic is taking into consideration that Jay played QB, RB, WR, OL, and all defensive positions?? Did Jay make the schedule too?

Kurt Warner still holds the all time record for career passer rating....he got his first win lst Sunday in 2 YEARS!! If you looked only at his numbers, would you say he is as good as that rating the last 2 years????????

Thank you, goodnight, class dismissed.

What is really silly is the way some people somehow give Fiedler personal credit for the winning record that the TEAM has amassed over the last four years. This the same argument that the wind bags on ESPN use because there is no other justification for leaving Fiedler to remain as the starter. If we are going to credit individual players for team accomplishments then Lamar Smith was a better RB than Ricky Williams ( the team had a much better record with him) and Trace Armstrong was a much better DE than O Gun, and Derrick Rodgers was a better LB than Seau etc. The assumption just doesnt work. As I mentioned a couple of days ago on another post no other current starting QB who has started for his team for the last 4 years has had less individual success that JF. Starting QB's that have started for the same team for at least four years all have multiple playoff wins or pro bowl appearances. Other teams in the NFL all realize that if your QB doesnt prove his worth within 4 years it is time to move on. It is time that Wanny, the team, give AJ the same opportunity to succeed by commiting to him and surrounding him with the parts ( read RB and OL here ) to make a fair comparison/ evaluation. The evaluation of this team and the individual parts should really probably be in the last 12 games of the year because of the offseason turmoil.

You want realistic? How about this:

Oakland 27, Dolphins 0
Baltimore 20, Dolphins 3

In his last two playoff games, Jay "stop bashing him" Fiedler put up exactly a FG.

Please....spare us.....

This thread is about as original as the stupid geico phrase people like to use a lot here..

This has been brought up time and time again and been shot down every time. This time is no different.

Anyway, we gave Fiedler 4 years to see what he could do and unfortunately he couldn't do much. We would have 4 years of losing records if it wasn't for the defense.

Good thing AJ is here and if AJ doesnt pan out, draft day will be here soon enough.

Texas, I understand what you are saying. I supported Jay and wanted Jay to start during that time frame. But ask this question, How long do you go before a change is warranted? There will always be excuses, at some point you have to say there has been enough time and the results are not there and move in another direction. In 00, it was he was playing with a separate shoulder and Lamar had 8 carries vs Oak in playoffs and 1st yr starter; in 01 it was Lamar didnt run and CC and Oronde didnt play vs Blt. In 02 it was Lucas cost us when he was hurt and teh defense collapsed in crucial end of season games. All those factors are true. Those are things that happened and Jay isnt responsible for nearly as much of teh blame he is given, but he is respinsible to a degree. It not what he did or dint do but what what he was not able to do. That is diff between Jay and other qbs, they can create out of nothing, they can overcome the obstacles, find a way. Jay cant, because Jay cannot make all the throws.

Is AJ it? I hope so and believe he may be but I dont know, but he has to play to find out and with the offense in the state it is in, it will take more than a few games to determine that. If this season is a done season, why not see what the young kid has?

This team will never succeed into or past the playoffs with Jay Fiedler he just cannot do it. Feely really needs an opportunity with some kind of reasonable pass protection. The fact that he thinks every play is his last he is always trying to make something happen when nothing is there. That is a result of our idiot head coach who thinks every game is his last and wont commit to Feely long term.
