You think Jay can play left tackle?
Well if you can give her personal credit for not making the playoff's for 4 years then I guess he should get personal credit for his winning record. Because that is all I hear in here is about how HE didnt take us to the playoffs, Then right after that you see how HE ISNT the one that won the games for us.DOC33 said:What is really silly is the way some people somehow give Fiedler personal credit for the winning record that the TEAM has amassed over the last four years. This the same argument that the wind bags on ESPN use because there is no other justification for leaving Fiedler to remain as the starter. If we are going to credit individual players for team accomplishments then Lamar Smith was a better RB than Ricky Williams ( the team had a much better record with him) and Trace Armstrong was a much better DE than O Gun, and Derrick Rodgers was a better LB than Seau etc. The assumption just doesnt work. As I mentioned a couple of days ago on another post no other current starting QB who has started for his team for the last 4 years has had less individual success that JF. Starting QB's that have started for the same team for at least four years all have multiple playoff wins or pro bowl appearances. Other teams in the NFL all realize that if your QB doesnt prove his worth within 4 years it is time to move on. It is time that Wanny, the team, give AJ the same opportunity to succeed by commiting to him and surrounding him with the parts ( read RB and OL here ) to make a fair comparison/ evaluation. The evaluation of this team and the individual parts should really probably be in the last 12 games of the year because of the offseason turmoil.
WOW, Fiedler deserves no credit. if it wanst for our defense over the past 4 years fiedler's record would go from 41-23 to 23-41. He is crap!!! Feely is much better. Of course he made some bad throws but did u see that O-Line. fiedler would have done much much worse.texasPHINSfan said:I'm not a Fiedler homer, but i'm sick of seeing this in every thread - everyone is jumping on that expression bandwagon.
In four years, Fieder took us to a 41-23 record, at no point starting out 0-2 even in his FIRST YEAR. (new to system, always been a backup, etc...) Granted, we had a better O-line, but we lacked some of the other weapons in other areas.
I'm not saying put Fiedler in for the game in Pitt, but i am saying give him his credit. I'm sick of all the bashing on here with you Feeley guys having no argument other than "the guys new - he's a rookie - this is a new system - the o-line won't block for him - etc" . I would like to see Feeley do well, but he's not. He has the stronger arm than Fiedler, but even Fiedler makes better decisions than what Feeley has made thus far.
Instead of listing excuses for Feeley while you're bashing Fiedler, why don't you try NOT bashing the guy who got us a winning record the last four years and try hoping your new guy proves he is better. The quality of his throws doesn't mean jack **** in the record books.
Here's for Feeley proving himself in sunday's game. :cooldude:

Your whole argument is flawed and downright lame when you say "Granted, we had a better O-line". That's the point everyone is making, with this line Fiedler would be at his worst, just like Feeley. All four years, Fiedler had a running game. Our offensive line was at it's best his first two years, where Fiedler had his best games. The last two seasons, as the line got crappier, so did Fiedler. The last two seasons, Fiedler had 1 really good game, the Cowboys game. He was awful all of last season, except for that one game. He did not take us to a 41-23 record. Our defense took us to that record, along with the crappy conservative offense of run-run-pass-punt. He's had CHambers for 3 seasons and Ricky for 2 seasons, so the talent was there.texasPHINSfan said:I'm not a Fiedler homer, but i'm sick of seeing this in every thread - everyone is jumping on that expression bandwagon.

How can you be so sure Fiedler can't be be better than Feeley with this o-line? He is more mobile than the statuesque Feeley, and has more experience facing pressure.Axel said:WOW, Fiedler deserves no credit. if it wanst for our defense over the past 4 years fiedler's record would go from 41-23 to 23-41. true, but he can't throw for jack sh1t, so were back to square one. A lot easier to fix the bad blocking than it is to fixing a QB who can't throw. Jay needs to hang out with Rick Ankiel.Lawrence said:How can you be so sure Fiedler can't be be better than Feeley with this o-line? But at least when he did complete a pass, it was to the opposing secondary for 6.ChambOfCommerce said:true, but he can't throw for jack sh1t, so were back to square one. A lot easier to fix the bad blocking than it is to fixing a QB who can't throw. Jay needs to hang out with Rick Ankiel.
Hot damn, you're SO right!!!! Holy cow, this changes EVERYTHING!!!! Jay actually led us to TEN whole points in two playoff games then!!!! WOO HOO!!!Dolphins12thMan said:Yeah your right, McKnight didnt drop that ball at the goal line.
Dude, you really seem to harp on the fact of these two INTs for TDs that AJ threw. Why don't you do something useful with your time and look up how many of Jay's INTs (and there were MANY) the opposing team took in for TDs on the ensuing drive? Just because they aren't returned for TDs immediately doesn't mean they don't result in TDs. Your argument about this is getting old.....Lawrence said:But at least when he did complete a pass, it was to the opposing secondary for 6.
Or I could look closer at the Bengal game and see that AJ should have really had about 5 picks; including the 1 that luckily fell in Chambers lap.And by the way, theres no need to be condescending when making your point. :)Pagan said:Hot damn, you're SO right!!!! I guess we can sit and add up all the yardage Gordon missed from the holes he didn't hit that were there too. Gordon easily ran for 120 against Cincy then.Lawrence said:Or I could look closer at the Bengal game and see that AJ should have really had about 5 picks; including the 1 that luckily fell in Chambers lap.And by the way, theres no need to be condescending when making your point. :)
The point was is that AJ was lucky to not have had more picks/ChambOfCommerce said:I guess we can sit and add up all the yardage Gordon missed from the holes he didn't hit that were there too. Gordon easily ran for 120 against Cincy then.
