Eric Ebron is the way to go for pick 19.

You mean that U of M team that EVERYONE was abusing this season?

Ignorance is bliss. The ignorance of people like you astound me. I've seen EVERY game this kid has played, and I'm telling you that he's the real deal. He would be an instant impact player for us, and a matchup nightmare. This league is about finding playmakers and he is the top playmaker in the draft and fits a position of need. Clay is NOT a TE, and I don't understand why some of you keep thinking he is. He's a FB/H-back and is not a seam or red zone threat. Don't get me wrong I like Clay a lot, and he is a playmaker, but he's not even in the same universe as Ebron. Sims and Egnew? Please. If he's there we HAVE TO grab him or the Pats will move up and get him, and he will kill us for years. We will see it all play out tomorrow, as we address the cornerstones of our o-line in FA, but this kid is a must get.

Had you preface your original post with the highlighted above then we didn't need to go further. I may have seen the kid play once against that same U of M team that your referring too. Did he look good? Yes! But that doesn't say much as I saw a lot of player look good vs. U of M atrocious defense and most of them probably aren't getting drafted.

Overall, the point being, this entire process is a crap shoot. Hell, Egnew off a few highlights looked pretty good and so far that hasn't seem to translate to the next level. If we end up drafting the kid I hope he's all world for us. But, would it really be that surprising if he doesn't translate to the next level?

Jets resign Jeff Cumberland to 3 year deal! Ebron might actually drop to us!! Here's hoping.

Amaro looked like a rail at the combine and seemed as if he did not prepare for his "interview" by touching a single weight.

I have totally turned on him as a prospect. He will bust.

Amaro weighed 15 lbs more than Ebron and put up 4 more reps. Not arguing for him as a prospect, but I don't know where you're getting any of this.

Amaro did 29 reps on the bench work ethic in the weight room is not an issue...off the field however is...and body language...gonna be on the board longer than people think...

Like I doubt drafted in round 2 even...he's not an every down player coming in more a package specialist while he learns and should be drafted as such...

I think he had a very average looking body and had a thin shape for a NFL TE. Not impressed.

Plus, I do not think he looks very fluid as an athlete esp. comparing him to the superior Ebron.

Like I said, I'm not defending Amaro as a prospect. I was never one of the people who wanted him at 19. But strength and size aren't negatives for Amaro.

Strength is an issue because he cannot block his way out of a wet paper bag.

You are not drafting amaro to block...if you want to draft that you go get fedorowicz...amaro is flex and wide mismatch

I disagree with that. He had 3 pancake blocks against Oklahoma. Two came against DB's, but you still don't get those without knowing how to position your body and hands. People assume that Texas Tech lined him up at WR because he can't block. I don't see an elite blocker, but I don't see anything less than solid.
