ESPN: Amari Cooper Likely to be Released

No. He doesn't get enough separation. Get Beasley.

Have you ever seen him play, like at Bama, for the Raiders, or the Cowboys? I mean that’s his strength as a WR. He’s one of the best route runners in the NFL.

Cole Beasley has nothing on Coop. Not to mention Beasley is turning 33 next month, whereas Coop will be 28 going into the season. Huge difference.

He's missed 5 games in 7 seasons.
Ya gotta dig a little deeper. He's always banged up and never 100% and misses practices. He only had two games last year with over 100 yards receiving.

If he's released I am sure there will be a lot of teams interested, but if I'm Miami I'd go after him hard. He's a really good possession receiver and durable. That allows you to trade Parker.

Trade Parker for what exactly? I don't really see teams ringing our phone off the hook to see if he is available.

Parker has been a major disappointment as a Dolphin. He does some nice things, but nowhere near consistently enough for him to be considered anything more than mediocre. The only reason he is still on the team is because his contract is pretty team friendly, but he could still end up being a post June 1 cut.

3 yr 42 million 28 mil guaranteed
I think he will be looking for a 4 year contract at $70-75 million, with $48 million guaranteed. I doubt the Dolphins would give him that type money but I won’t be surprised if he gets that amount or more from another team.

I think they would be lucky to get a 5th round pick for Parker and more likely a 6th round pick because of all the injuries he has had with the Dolphins.

It's not a "seen him play argument." It's a factual argument. They track these things. In terms of separation, Beasley is top 10 and Cooper is bottom tier statistically.

That's 2 more than Parker had Las season.

Cooper had the same amount of TDS against Tampa as Parker had for the season.

Cooper had 2 more TDS last season than Parker has had the last 2 seasons combined.

Cooper also has 5 1000 yard seasons out of 7. Compared to Parkers 1.

He would be an immediate upgrade and worth pursuing.

He may always have nagging I injuries, but unlike Parker, he still produced and finished games.

If he's reasonable, outside of Adam's, I would pursue Cooper

Funny, his stance on COVID would be one of the only reasons I would want to see him in Miami. I wouldn’t be that excited about him as a player at this point though.
I feel a certain way politically (mods I'm not trynna be political) but regardless of his stance it's how he went about I take issue with. Was from a self centered temper tantrum than any kind of calm and collected reasoning, and him lashing out at his teammates speaks volumes to me. Just not a team player IMO

Plus...he's old lol

Why are we comparing him to Parker?

I don't even want Parker. Of course he's way better than DVP.

I would pass on Cooper. My buddy a huge Cowboys fan said he has lost some speed and separation quickness.
I would rather sign Berrios and draft a fresher WR, be it Burks or Wilson.

I am a Louisville fan so definitely a DVP fan but if you have to let him go to get Cooper and make the money right you do it, no questions asked. Cooper and Waddle would be a nice 1-2 punch. Give me Cooper over Godwin (torn ACL), Robinson(older), and Adams (expensive, older and probably franchised).
