ESPN: Cards and Broncos Favorites... FML

lets move on were not getting him, we dont even have a meeting set up with him, we contacted his reps the day he was released and he still hasn't given us a definitive time for a meeting, but who flew right out and met with the broncos and cards, I think that is very telling and speaks volumes as to how he views us, he might sneak us in for a quick meeting but I doubt it will mean anything, were not getting Manning mark my words, on to the next one flynn? tannehill?

OR......

1) Mort and Shefter are guessing/clueless

OR.......

2) They are purposely being fed misinformation by Peyton's people in order to get Ross to really open that wallet wide when he does drop by to see them.

OR.....

3) They could be dead on and were screwed.

Its hard to say at this point really. I think we will know for sure by Tuesday.

It's really getting ridiculous now, now Arizona is the co-favorites? Stong "indications" ? What were those, he didn't smile when the the Dolphins name was mentioned? How can these "reporters" get away with this crap? Every big story they are so irresponsible and just inventing crap. It's so frustrating and annoying. Why is reporting such a joke these days?

THe news organizations are playing this to the hilt for readership. The keep the public in a constant spin.
Scheftler is just enjoying all the attention. Just ignore him, that is how you can hurt him the most.

rather have matt moore

Me too. I will be pissed if we dont get Manning. However, I could live with it if we stick with Moore in the case we dont get Manning. If we dont get Manning, the last thing I want is to go overpay a guy who isnt even better than Moore(no other available QBs are) or spend the 8th pick on a longshot QB. IMHO there are only 2 QBs available worth getting. Manning and Luck. Luck isnt even technically available because the Colts have that locked down and wouldnt trade that pick for the entire franchise.

Sources familiar with the situation tell ESPN's Adam Schefter the Broncos and Cardinals are considered free agent Peyton Manning's "two likeliest landing spots."

According to Schefter, "indications" are that the Dolphins aren't as high on Manning's list as the Cardinals and Broncos. A source who spoke with Manning prior to his trip to Arizona says his "gut" is that Manning is "leaning toward Denver." Schefter also reports the Seahawks have been working to arrange a meeting with Manning, but have been unsuccessful. The Cardinals and Broncos' status as Manning's first two visits make it unsurprising that they're currently in the lead for his services, but it would be a major upset if Manning signs a new deal without first getting the checkbook of Dolphins owner Stephen Ross involved.

And lets say he meets with Miami tomorrow, do they all of a sudden become the favorite? Its like they are reporting it based on the flavor of the moment.

Why? Because he went to those two first? Silly - which is what you'd expect from the ESPN clowns.

No because he scheduled meeting with both of these teams and hasn't scheduled as much as a phone call with us. If they're wrong, then why don't we have something scheduled?

Think about every other similiar situation the Dolphins have faced over the past year (Harbaugh's hiring, Sparano's firing last spring, Jeff Fisher). 24 hours before the final decision was made, everyone assumed the opposite of what eventually happened.

plus most of the teams that need a qb will fill that need this year. might give us a good shot at barkley.

but these aren't just random internet bloggers but paid reporters, it's sickening. During the Pujols BS, some of them ieven said it was a done deal for Miami. WTF? I'm going to take your advice and just ignore any reports unless Peyton is quoted or there is a factual report of a team signing him, everything else is just BS.

If we don't get Manning, it's because Philbin has high confidence in Flynn's ability and he will be wearing aqua. If Philbin isn't sold on Flynn, Ross will blow Manning away with an offer. Don't worry guys, one of these two will be a Dolphin.
