ESPN: Cards and Broncos Favorites... FML

So when the dolphins meet him we are going to be the favorites gj ESPN..

i bet manning will be in our facility if not tomorrow evening first thing tuesday morn...and then its up to ross and ireland to keep him there and not let him leave without inking him to a contract...

i wish i had more faith in that part of it...

My feelings exactly. Manning just met with Elway and Fox(took Carolina to a Super Bowl in 2004), now he is meeting with Bidwell and Whizzenhunt(Took AZ to a Super Bowl on 2009), and on Monday or Tuesday, we roll with Ross, Uncle Fester (sorry, I couldn't help myself), and Ireland. Underwhelming to say the least. I have to admit, the men running our organization are not that impressive professionally or physically as compared to the others.

Ross will have to offer him top coin as QB, and a promise of lucrative business ventures a couple of years from now after his playing days are over.

Ireland will have to set his ego aside, and not feel threatened by a man of greater stature. He will also have to cut and adjust the roster to get Manning's guys signed.

Philbin will have to agree to modify any plans he and Sherman have about the offense and install the Manning style of offense.

i just dont understand why arizona and denver are more appealing to him than miami.

all 3 teams were not very good last year, 2 of those 3 teams, the cardinals and broncos were not very good despite playing in very bad divisions.

arizona has fitzgerald who is the best wr out of the 3 teams top wideouts, but is the margin between him and marshall that substantial where it would make him lean one way or the other? i dont think so.

i think our team is better than all 3 teams, and what can be a better way for manning to play in the same divison as the team that had prevented him from reaching the superbowl so many times throughout his career?

miami also offers nice weather like arizona, but playing in miami means also no state income tax.

maybe im being bias because im a fins fan, but i just dont see why those teams appeal more than our team?

marino should have a long talk with manning and try to sway him towards choosing us.

That's what I have been trying to figure out as well. It might just have to do with him feeling more comfortable with those two organizations and maybe not trusting the Dolphins owner or front office. He did say something interesting about the Dolphins when he was interviewed by the Miami media this past week, he said they have some new people in place. I took that as him meaning he is not sure if he would fit with them.

yep...and reggie wayne will be part of the package...

Out of the three if them, I think Philbin has the best chance to sway Manning. He is a no nonsense football guy who clearly knows his stuff. He sold Miami on himself. Ireland and Ross should sit back and let Philbin close it. Might be our best chance.

Think about the coaching staff. Fox and Whizzenhunt have led their teams to the super bowl in the last 8 years.
Philbin is a rookie head coach...with a great pedigree. At this point in Peyton's career, he doesn't have time to waste. Do not over look this fact. I think it is huge.

LOL .... The talking heads at ESPN have to say something, anything. Remember what ESPN is now. Its not about responsible journalism, its about sensationalism and ratings. That is why when there is nothing to say, they still say something. So they fill an article with a bunch of "mights" and "maybes". They say garbage like "as of now" and "some sources say he might be thinking about this or might be thinking about that" and ESPN gets exactly what it wants. People clinging on every word like its set in stone. Of course when they are wrong, like they usually are(see Pujols, Lebron etc....) noone calls them out on it because they spew something else out which distracts the lemmings.

There is little difference with people hanging on every word that these guys say with the people who quote incarcerated bob as a legitimate source. Incarcerated Bob is wrong most of the time but thats always forgotten by his followers as soon as he throws something else out there to distract them. ESPN does the same thing.

thank god...

why is everyone gaga over peyton manning anyway? If you remove the name and you say we have the opportunity to sign a 36 year old QB coming off 4 neck surgeries who still doesn't have full throwing strength, would you be chomping at the bit to sign him?

If peyton manning plays a full season like he used this season, i'll eat my hat.

Peyton manning enables this organization to ignore the elephant in the room for another year. That we still have no QB of the future.

Guys,guys.....

The situation with Dever, AZ and MIA did not change one bit in a week or in months. If we are in Manning's final list, we still are.

Of course. Its funny how some people think that Mannings thought process as to where he is going to play started right after his release. Hes been thinking about this for weeks. Hes known he was not going to be a colt next year so of course hes been thinking and talking to his family about where hes should play for a while. Too many people rather let ESPN do the thinking for them

So, let me get this straight. Manning has made 2 FA visits, and these clowns are saying the 2 teams he is most likely to sign with are the only 2 he has visited? Well no sh*t sherlock. A retarded baby with a brain injury could have made that connection. Absolutely ridiculous...

We are looking at Jeff Fisher in reverse.

Everyone said Fisher was in the bag for the Fins, done deal, big press conference etc.

Then BaM! Fisher to the Rams.

Now look at Peyton, everyone is saying Peyton to Denver, already signing the contract, then he's in AZ, it's a done deal.

Then BAM! Peyton to........ the FINS.
